Default Case for 12X

Can anybody recommend a good case for a JR 12X? I got one for Christmas and the case that comes with it is a poor fit. I tried what the addendum to the instructions recommended, but my antenna won't fold forward far enough for the lid to clear.

I am amazed that a transmitter of this quality comes with a case that doesn't fit.

Horizon carries a Sprectrum case that is like the old 10x case, the radio fits in sideways just fine.

Jeff,

The original case is just fine. Simply adjust the slidable compartments arround and you it will fit your TX perfectly (even TWO if you want).

Hi,
You can really find good cases here:
http://www.skbcases.com
and also here:
http://www.gatorindustrialcases.com (see utility)
They are not exactly for RC transmitter but they have a huge selection of cases, maybe you can adapt one by modifying the foam interior.

I use a SKB golf case to carry my pylon planes. The quality is really good.

If you have a Lowes home center by you, you can get a case there as most of us have, 20-25 bucks for a good solid case.

You can get a good one ever cheaper than Lowes, at Harbor Freight.

Here's what I don't get. Your photo shows what the addendum to the manual shows. When I try it, the base section of my antenna won't go down far enough. It'll go to about 45 degress, and that's it. Even if you remove the foam from inside the lid, you can't close the case without potentially breaking the antenna. What am I missing? Has JR changed the amount of travel on the antenna or something?

Hi Jeff,

I have teken some more photos so hopefully they will help you to rearrange your case accordingly. On my DSX12 the antenna base is full forward to about a 70 degree angle, confirm yours only moves to 45 degrees.

The JR case also fits my Futaba 14MZ perfectly.

Good luck.

Rgds.

I didnt have a case, so ordered a yellow case from Pellican. Waterproof, and foam filled. Big enough to put in charger and other accessories. Then some one sold me his 12X case, and im not using the Pellican. Its nice but a bit heavier. I could sell you my Pellican case.

Yep, mine won't fold forward far enough. I wonder if they've tweaked the design or something. Something isn't right.
