I ordered mine for about $50 USD from Bruce Thorpe Eng. http://www.btemodels.com/rarf-fueltanks.html

You may be better served ordering directly from PST jets. See this thread and send the RCU member "B777" a message.

I should be a rep!

Big ups to you marc s!

I ran a JC Rabbit in my BVM Mig-15 today with your 'C.A.T- Small' as a replacement for a rather bloody temperamental BVM UAT and it was brilliant!!

Seriously one of the best quality, simple components I've seen in 30 years of modeling. From the superb service, to the packaging and delivery, to the first class build quality and finally the performance - the GBRjet C.A.T's are as good as it gets!

Now using GBRjet's servo mounts, air tank mounts, C.A.T, Tank and duct upgrade throughout my Tomahawk 1:3.5 HAWK.

Keep at the innovation please marc... lovin it!

at high flow rates it can cause and add to static build up in flight. I use the BVM UAT on most of my stuff, however have used alternatives (MAP ) on the big block engines . The UAT also can't handle high flow volume all to well with its small fittings, and even JetCat has suggested that if running a BVM UAT, running 2 in parallel might be a good idea on the big 45lbs+ engines to facilitate adequate flow without sucking the UAT in on itself

New, simple and work......

marcs

that looks about ten times cooler/cleaner than the bvm uat. Is it important to be able to see the fuel inside?? I do feel a little better that I can see whether or not there is any air in the bvm uat.

You can see through it easily - its opaque and fuel can be seen clearly through the sides.

BaldEagle (Mike)
Where did you obtain the pleated paper pickup?
I bought a couple from Mick Reeves, who no longer advertises them, and would like more.

Also, how did you make it fit a standard fueltank bunghole?

The standard filter will not fit through the Dubro type bung hole, or even the aluminium rings you can buy to make the tank fit more reliable, I made a custom clunk for a customer along with a tank to do this - the process was to take the pleated filter, I used one the same diameter as the small unit you refer to but twice the length so as to maintain a good filter length, cut the glued ends off, machined up some brass ends, one with an M6 thread to fit a barbed fitting to and hysol'd the whole shooting match together.

See picture of finished result.

PM me for info on where to get these filters.

I fitted the first of my Micro C.A.T's to my p-20 powered F-100 Recently. It was the perfect solution as it fitted into the area above the intake and inside the rear-spine of the fuselage perfectly.
Basically to repeat what has been said before about this product.... What a stunning bit of kit. A bit like any other true quality product. You just know how good it is even before you see the product itself. From the packaging, to the presentation, right to the perfectly neat construction, fit and finish. I dont know why I was surprised, as this is the standard of everything that Marc has delivered to me over the past three years we have been working together.
Everything worked as I would expect. A few coughs and splutters on the very first run, but no flame outs. After one tank and a good old shake about on full throttle showed everything running perfectly. I flew the F-100 and loved it so much that I ran it dry of fuel.... right down to the last drop that the felt clunk could pick up!
I have just ordered a Super C.A.T for my new P-200 powered Mirage 2000, and I am pretty sure this wont be the last C.A.T fitted to my models. Nice one Marc!
Regards Al

Happy days in NZ!

Skived out of the office today to grab a small 'window' in some pretty crappy weather and to test two models just fitted with Marc's new Composite Air Traps.

We have both been chasing air bubbles out of UAT's for months and we'd put it down to good luck more than anything that we hadn't lost a model. One flight things would be fine - the next a flame out on the take off run, over and over again.

Limited success was causing a major lack of confidence in both setups. Both models have painstakingly thorough setups and every stone was unturned to sort the fuel problems out without success... until today! One of the setups is in a pic in a post above.

Models tested with the new CAT's were:

- A BVM Mig 15 running a Jet Central Rabbit with a small CAT.
- A Carf Rookie ll running a Behotec 66 with a medium CAT.

Can report not a bubble in sight all day on either model and both engines ran flawlessly - a couple of shots attached.

Stoked Marc - cheers to CAT's!
