Inflight Fire

From looking at the video I would have thought the fire weakened the tube and then it imploded. I have seen something similar happen due to an over acheiving fuel pump on a big Simjet once, scared the doo-ha out of me for sure. The thing kept on burning, we used up two extinquishers before we got it out.
Thanks for giving us the real cause, and sharing the video.
Have seen several incidents due to these weak pipes letting go.

Hmm, I'm sorry I'd be a bit peeved if someone who was kind enough to use his extinguisher on my plane then turned around and asked me to replace it. It costs a measly $40 bucks to refill. I just potentially lost thousands. Wait a week or two BEFORE bringing that up.
If I left my extinguisher in the car (this NEVER happens), then just exchange your spent one for my full one. That would be cool. You gotta keep flying. That's understood.
If you aren't a bro enough to help your buddy's airplane stop burning for $40 then don't volunteer your extinguisher. Be a TOOL and just watch your buddy's airplane burn.

OK... I do have to butt in again, but there are 2 things going on...
1) Yes... the nice thing to do is to help with the fire, and not bring up the expense of refilling the extinguisher. (That would be the "Bro" thing) BUT... 2) If I help with a crashed model... I would expect to be reimbursed.
I'm the kind of guy that will give you the shirt off my back, but if it's not appreciated, you won't get help again. Also... Knowing the kind of money lost... if the person who crashed would at least offer to pay for the refill... I would not take his money. BUT, if he never offered to take care of me, or if they act like it's expected... then I'll be the guy watching his model burn the next time.
We do this for fun, and everyone should think about everyone else. I don't care what kind of money is lost (it's part of the hobby) the offer of compensation should always be made.
