Ripmax Xcalibur Sports jet

Mine is soon finished, just to mount the booms and adjust CG.
Made som small modification to leave the space above fueltank available for smoketank.
I really enjoyed the kit, but did not like the elevator servo setup. Probably paranoid but I do like a more secure setup of the servo making the plane stay alive. Just made my own secured setup..

Well there might be after a few wild mushrooms but I digress.

I did the first startup today on Jet Munts VT 80 and smooth start and throttling.
Last CG adjustment. Do you use the 160mm as recommended or may I use a bit longer aft?
The second one here in Norway are slightly behind me but he will be ready soon as well.
Bad weather and a lot of snow so not that many airfields available at the moment.

Cool, you can go back a little, though I always say fly as the manual to start with.
Glad No 2 is getting there. Only one more month before we see more in England...I hope!

5th March in England for more happy Xcalibur customers. Hope I finally get to keep a kit for myself this time.
Alf. Good to hear you are ready when the weather clears, we would need floats here atm!

Finally Customs have released the first shipment of Xcaliburs so for those who ordered them in the first batch we should be shipping by tomorrow and Monday. And for you guys that may be looking to get them ready for FL Jets that should not be an issue. It a pretty easy jet to put together. A week should be all you need.

Hi All,
Just wanted to ask what length the main legs and front leg have to be. I have 110mm Jet-1A trailing main legs and 105mm front leg available. Will they fit or are they too short?
I would like to fit Lado electric retracts, which can take up to 9kg weight. What is the weight of the Xcalibur ready to go?

Main legs are a little shorter, Nose longer. You would have to modify the mount and leg trail sit to fit in recess. My experience of electric retracts still says don't bother! The manufacturers are using the customer for R&D...
Xcalibur gear is really good.

Hi Dave, nothing on Model Engines web site. I am very interested in buying one of these, and was wondering if you know of anybody else selling them over here, or whether anyone has one flying yet?
