Dave. I think so. This jet fits well for our entry level jets or just a simple, economical sport jet that's much better looking. And its got a really nice manual that most of the jets in our lines don't have.

Top marks to Ripmax!.
Yes, Colin Straus has led this project brilliantly and shown what is possible, decent manual, quality product. The U/C was a development over several years finding a manufacturer who could provide what was expected.

Mike. Yes, you will do very well in North America with this, its hit the spot at a good time.

Looking good Paul. Set it with some CROW (about 6mm) will be even better for tight sites like New Ground.

Nice Paul! I´m getting mine on wednesday, can´t wait!

Dave. In the manual it says mini servos for rudders. For me it looks more like standard. What type of servos does the demo model have?

It will take a std size servo, but all the top will stick out, so pushrod angles will be poor. Ripmax's model has Futaba 9650?Midi servos. I have ordered Saxox 1250MG for our packages as JR's midi servos are high priced. With the long booms, tail weight is an issue. 4.5kg torque minimum, lightest possible I'd say.

Made up the air tank mount from some ply I had, and the air fill valve mount, coated in thinned finishing resin, will also seal the wood in the fuselage using same.

Those retracts look the business Paul, and the sport scheme is my preference over the military one. How are you finding the finish in general?

The finish on the sport scheme is very good, I gave it a polish with car wax very nice.
The retracts are very nice units, good centering on the nose leg, they are also very smooth to operate by hand cant see having any problems with these.

Hey Paul
How are you getting on with the retract and break lines, not finding much space around retracts for plumbing

I'll be doing my lines tonight, post some pics later.
You put a hole in the well near the nipple and feed line through then put gear back in.
The brake line will go down the leg and gave a sort of loop so it does not pull when gear down, you will see from the pics .

Lines in one leg done, one hole inside, larger hole outside for break line and ram line.
The brake discs look good too, I'll see how strong they are before putting grease in the hubs.

I have never seen the point in huge air intakes/ducting in a turbine model. They seem to take up quite a lot of useful room. Would it be easy/feasible to cut them out and remove them ?

I guess that's why someone else designed this aeroplane!
The efficiency that allows a P-60 to power it comes in-part from the inlet design.
I'm told by Dave the inlet size allows for the range of turbines intended for the Xcalibur. You can butcher yours as you like.
