Hi TxShan nice looking UL!!!!The Bandit in the background did you trade that to Keith Commander cause he has one identical to your scheme. Also did you have to add quite of bit of weight in the nose to get the CG right? Good luck with the maiden flight. I guess your planning on maidening it at Bomber field whenever the weather gets better

Thanks, I actually did not have to add any weight, cg was spot on. Yes, that used to be my classic composite bandit(Hanger Queen) which I really regret selling. Offered to buy it back and am now looking for another!!! Heard it sustained a little bit of damage sadly. As for maiden flight, I am planning to go to Scobee Field (Nice, wide runway)for maiden when it warms up.

What batteries did you use, and where did you put them to get the CG spot on? I will be using the 180rx, that should be 1.5lbs lighter than the 200sx. Maybe i can put my batts in the fuse instead of the nosecone.

I already noticed the FOD needed some modification...
What's up with the bare circuit board of the I/O interface...why not deliver a new turbine with I/O interface with charge plug they have...just would look nicer.
I just installed the nose gear servo.
Next i'm gonna work on the elevator servo's. That looks quite difficult to get them in

Don't set the closed loop too tight! Pull the leg forward as hard as you can and ensure the wires have a little free play. With Spring air units like you have the leg will bounce off the wires and might not lock.
LONG screwdriver needed with a large + that fits the screw heads. I screw in a spare screw into each hole before adding the servo to start a thread, then they go in OK.

Yes i noticed that. In the pic the gear is down and the closed loop is somewhat loose. I will do some more tests once i receive the valves.
Thanks for the tip on the elevator servo's Dave

A friendly advise from experience, installing the link at the back of the gear door may cause the door to tear apart because of the air stream. When the plane is flying there is nothing to stop the door from lifting from its front side.
i know that it is a pain and after all the work you've done but it is very difficult for this arrangement to hold it together.
Nice plane by the way, I have 2 of those and enjoying them almost every weekend in the 'winter' of Dubai.

Damn Tassos, i think you might be right, i didn't think of that....
I made it this way based on some build thread i've seen here.
There is not enough space to put the link in front of the door.
How did you do yours? Did you use the method with cable ties, or do you have the aluminium collars from the carf LG option pack?

Hi I just ed wanted to chip in here and tell you that i screwed my door directly to the landing gear.I had to install and epoxy a block between the door and the gear to get the door even with the wing skin when closed. Also it has to be shortened app. 1' at the hinge point area but it looks ok Actually there is two blocks one on each end of the door

On one of my UL I have removed it totally (Jolly Rogers scheme), on the other (purpple yellow scheme) I just use the stock system, works perfect for me.
But I've downloaded a few other pics previously from RCU these will give you a few ideas.
Thanks,
Tassos

Hi wim What does the connection on the pull-pull cables on the nose gear do? I used small key rings on rubberbands attached to the side rails on my UL and it seemed to work fine. By chance have you had a opportunity to look inside the horizontal stabs where the servos mount. On my stabs their was a balsa block on each side of the opening for the servo on each stab It was a real pain to remove. If i hadn't had a pencil grinder i don't think i would have been able to grind it out. good luck with the build. PS mine is all done except waiting on the turbine from JC

being retired gives you plenty of free time to work on airplanes, especially when the weather is ugly. My turbine is suppose to ship tomorrow if it passes the test run so hopefully i will do the maiden in a couple of weeks weather permitting!

I sure hope it's still in one piece by then. Maybe I'll have to come out before the rally and come see it. Haven't maidened it yet, but maybe this weekend if the weather is nice. Planning on bringing my UF and Razor as I am the most comfortable with those jets. Can't wait! Are you using a Jetcat P200sx?

The connection between the pull-pull is a cable tie that opens the wires when the gear comes up. Seems to work fine.
There is indeed a piece of plie that needs to be removed in the stab.
I wish i could buildthat fast

That piece of lite ply isn't what i had in my stab. I just wish that was all i had to deal with!! In your pic that you posted where the predrilled holes for the servo mounts? Comp/Arf had completly covered it with a block allmost to the edge of the access hole. It was about 3/4" thk x 1" wide x 1.5"tall . Looks like your doing a good job on the build.

Let us know how it went Melvin!
I spent an evening installing the elevator servo's, it wasn't easy, but using a bosch ixo with a flexible extension and a long philips head they went in ok.
Also put the servo in the vertical fin.
