Emailed Vogelsang yesterday about the SEP 24x18 three-blade, hope it is back in stock. If not, guess I'll try the Fiala 24x17 three-blade.
Also emailed Fiala, understand they will custom make prop with a max pitch of 22.

David, do none of Biella props work for this situation? Looking at the numbers there appear to be several that would fit in the prescribed category.

They just don't have the pitch required, but I would like to maybe try the Biela 26/14/3TD or 26/16/3.

We are no longer allowed to fly at Pulaski. According the FBO operator there, the local "FAA" has forbid any R/C activity there. Have been told that we may be able to fly at Lawrenceburg or even Columbia, but I have not confirmed that. Scott and his fellow jet guys have been flying in Nashville or Bowling Green, and BG has a great field, but it is just too far for me since I am 100 miles south of Nashville. We have a good grass strip here, but not too great for most jet aircraft.

We have been flying many of our turbine models at Peeler Park in Madison, Tn. The runway is only 40'×400', but I have flown my large SM F-4, FeiBao MB339, and currently flying the Aurora from that same site. Others have flown the small and large Futuras, Comp Arf Lightning, SM 1/6 scale F-16, SM large Hawk, Eurosport, and an assortment of other non scale turbine-powered models.

The Skymac field in Bowling Green, Kentucky is the other location that is used, but I only go there when I need to do a maiden flight. The runway there is 50'×800'.

Doc, I am waiting to hear if Beila, Fiala, or SEP will custom make either a three, or five blade prop in the diameter/pitch that I need for the PC-21.

Well I will try and get down to peeler Park in the next two weeks before I go on vacation.

The verdict is in...

I got a flight in with the 25/17/3 on Sun., and the performance was much improved! The vertical performance was MUCH better while the speed "seemed" to only be barely more (visually, not actual recordings). I do have a custom "scale" prop that came with the plane that I may try, but I have no idea of the size. It is bigger in diameter than the SEP, but I have no idea of the pitch. Other than that, I think I'll be sticking with the 25/17/3 for the Raven, but may give one of the Bielas listed above a try one day.

Just ordered a three-blade Fiala 24x17, it was the only thing available. Maybe other props will be available soon.

Kirk, I have not found a five-blade prop with the pitch/diameter suitable for the K-60TP. However, Gerhard (Aircraft International) sent me an email stating that Biela Propeller could make a three-blade 24x22 prop. Waiting for cost info.

Thanks for the info David. I think initially, I'm going to try a Solo Prop. I have a three blade Solo Prop for a Corsair and the pitch can be adjusted from 0 to 24 degrees. I would be interested in hearing how the Biela works out.

What about the 5-blade used by SM and shown on the website?

I got the SM prop on the way, but not sure of the diameter, or pitch. Would like to get the max performance from the K-60tp, so looking for other available options.

That skymaster prop is huge. When I had the K60 at Florida jets it had that prop on it and it was a beast. I could not believe that little engine could spin that huge prop.

Got the Skymaster five-blade yesterday. The numbers on the prop indicate that is a 24x23.5. The prop seems a bit heavy, but pretty much balanced out of the box.

Wow, that seems like quite a load, but apparently it works...Are you planning on using it or the one you ordered?

My current plan is to use the 24x17 SEP three-blade prop for the maiden flight. If the performance is decent with this prop, I will use it for the remainder of this flying season. I may just save the Skymaster prop for the K100 TP when it is released

That turbine looks great. How it comoRes to the SPT-5 in terms of power ?

I have 2 x SPT-5 in CARF airplanes. One moves with authority a Marchetti and the other one is only OK for the Tucano. The Tucano is an older model and a heavier one so it would benefit of more power. I've been thinking on a SPT-10 but this new Kingtech looks like a good alternative.

any my reports on performance in the future would be appreciated.

The suggested prop for the Kingtech 60TP is a 24x20, or a 24x22 three-blade prop. If I remember correctly, the suggested prop for the SPT 5 is 24x12, or 24x14 three-blade. Started my K-60 TP for the first time this past weekend using a 24x17 three-blade SEP prop. Only ran the engine for a short period, but never above
1/2 throttle. I was impressed by the power of this little jewel. (Manual states power is 7.3 kw at 7000 rpm)
