Default A-7

Hey Guys,
I want an A-7 sooooooooo bad. Now that Fly Eagle is using carbon in their honeycomb mix, is it safe to fly "Fly Eagle" equipment? Not trying to start a mean thread, I just want a good size A-7 and they have one. Chic

What a company used is not all that matters. It's the way it is used and where it is used.
I can give a monkey carbon, kevlar, titanium etc etc and I would still end up with a banana.

If i gave you the keys to the boeing 747 production line, youd have a better chance at coming out with a viable airplane

redtail, I want one bad too. I have a FEJ F-35 and it's ok, I have limited trust in it, but not for the A7.... which has a history.

The only thing left for us is to build a Century Jet A7, which I've been told it's a nice kit and there are some flying out there.

Hope that helps. Perhaps Skymaster will stop making 6 sizes of the same freakin' model and day and make an A7.

Hard to believe a reputable manufacturer has not produced one yet. There have been rumors over the years that BV had one in the works but it's never materialized. Still hoping.

Hi Karl

as mentioned, that plane would not hold together. I know what you are thinking! We saw the aftermath at Best in the west event and was not pretty.

Wow, you guys are to good and to funny all at the same time. Completely understand all that each of you have said. What a beautiful airframe. As you said Craig, why has it not been built by SOMEONE other than FEJ. Will look at the Century Jet but I would like one just a bit larger. I'll keep hoping it might happen before I'm dead. Smile. I was just curious as I just flew one a few weeks ago and it was a little nose heavy , the control throws were a little off. so how long does it take before the wings blow off?

According to research the FEJ Blowout Coefficient (Fboc) = 30<Fboc<40

On a really good one = 32

If the FEJ version is right for you size wise, perhaps buy it, flop a mold off it and make your own? only a suggestion! Been done before!

I've wondered the same thing. Do the manufacturers think there would be little demand?

Now what would be waaaay cool would be an F-8, with a functional variable-incidence wing!

I have flown smaller a7s and in my opinion its a terrible flying airplane. Maybe bigger ones fly better but I think its an aircraft design issue not size issue.

I am sick of hawks and L39s though and agree something else needs to be built.

+1 !! Leaving FEJ aside, decent size MiG 29 (single& twin seat), Tornado (single & twin engine), A6 Intruder & yes, an A7 that's properly thought out!
