Well, I’m really lucky to have a friend that has “stuff”. Showed him my less than perfect buff job on my plane and he said he had just the thing. Brought over this little buffer and some sort of 3m magic wax and wow! Talk about making a little job out of it! Apparently I can’t post pics right now... so you will just have to take my word for it lol.
Electron gear showed up, looks really nice, I’m going to have to flip trunions around it looks like. Found the procedure in Electrons site.

Not sure why you have to turn trunions around. Ar you trying to get motors inside wings instead of wheel well? (Edit, looking at Winter’s install, I see what you are talking about. I just left mine as they came and had motor in wheel well. Wish I had realized you could reverse them! Live and learn😀. Guess I could still do it)
Also, for anyone using Unilights, are you running them of an Rx battery or their own. Thanks!

Sounds good! If you get a chance, please post the name of the 3m product.

The 3M product I’m using is called
Perfect-It EX AC Rubbing Compound. I had sections of the plane that felt like the surface of an orange and it’s nice and smooth now. After the running compound I hit it with some regular car wax and it’s very nice finish now. Wish I could post the pics!

Ok here is what I’m using and some before and after pics...
You can see the rudder before and after, the flap I only got an after. There are a lot of areas all over the plane where it’s hazy and rough feeling and this gets it to at least an acceptable look. I’m nervous to do it too much in any one area because I don’t want to got through the clear. I found one area where there is apparently no clear because the compound immediately turned blue so I stopped right away. I’ve spent most of my available time this weekend buffing and cleaning up the plane, haven’t really started any real assembly yet.
Has anyone ordered Unilights yet and what did you get? I’d like to order some but don’t know which ones would work best.
You can also see in my pics that the logos are no longer “all paint” the majority of mine are cleared over decals, which to be honest is disappointing.

I commonly see over spray on some models. Potentially caused by not being sprayed in a booth or without the necessary air-flow. I typically correct it using a clay bar. Works great and does not reduce the top-coat like polishing compounds.

FYI - My T-1 shipped Monday. UPS Tracking says it's waiting for clearance agency release in Incheon, S. Korea. 7 months 22 days from the date of order. Dirk has stayed on top of it the whole time. Hopefully, it'll be here next week but, I'm headed to Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona to fly for the D.O.D. so, of course, I'll miss its arrival. The wife will bring it inside and taunt me with text message pix of the box, I'm sure.

I was at the field the other day speaking to a Jet flyer whom had the T-1. Asked about balance etc. His response was move all the batteries to the back. I told him mine balances per most on this forum on the center of the wing aluminum spar. Hoper tank full. He said negative it’s nose heavy. Is he correct? I know the first flights are for getting the feel of the jet. If I would move them to where he said it would definitely be way tail heavy.

A guy that fly's one here also said his is at the back of the wing tube. He said he started in the middle but felt it was still nose heavy. I know plenty here say they like middle of wing tube and that's were I will start mine at. It's personal preference from there.
