Thanks Art. Will do. I am on vacation all week next week so I should be able to make one of these days. I don't have your phone number any more having switched phones so many times. If you PM it to me I can text you on the day I go with an ETA. Perhaps you will be available.

I have previously shown you the PVC stand I made for the Flash. I works well for transport, storage and working on the model.

Wanting a little more room in my truck, I decided to build a removable wing rack. The wing is held in place securely given the tapper of the wing and there is no need for the wing bags.

Trying to maiden mine and the heat is so insane right now. South Texas heat index in 114 this week. Winds at 15-25 at 7am...hard for us to fly all day when the sweat burns your eyes at 9am! I agree, weather sucks!

In NY it wind or rain everyday...and some days both! Been this was since the snow melted. Hard to believe its July and I have only flown my full scale plane 4 times and only been to the flying field 4 times (3 times with Prop Planes).

Good luck with your test flight when it happens. The jet is worth the wait.

Nice work on the stand, Dom. It looks like a perfect solution. Make sure it is wide enough at the base and not too top heavy unless it will be tied down.

Thanks Mark. Without the wing rack it was rock solid all the way to Titusville. To your point I will have to see how it is with the wing up there.

So the stand and wing rack worked perfectly! Better news I logged three more flights on the Flash. I went with 3 3/4 of landing flap and she was crawling in. To be fair I had a 15 knot headwind today vs the 17 knot crosswind last time. Those wobbly vertical rolls are still there. I have tried everything, more differential as per the manual, differential the opposite way and no differential. I just cant get rid of it. My flying buddy thinks I may inadvertently be getting some up elevator given the fact that I am not running any expo and that the controls are sensitive. Having a blast none the less.

I now have 13 flights on my Flash and have to say this airplane is amazing. Here is where I ended up with my control throws:

Aileron 5/16 up and 7/16 down
Elevator 11/16 up and down
Flap: Take off 5/8, Landing 3 3/4
Flap Mix: Take off flap 1.5mm down, Landing flap 1/8 down

I have zero expo on all controls and am using no dual rates

Balanced inverted level at 220mm with the gear up and about 1/2" fuel in the main tank and a full 11oz hopper and full 4oz UAT

The performance of this jet is amazing! Slow rolls can be 1000' or longer, point rolls are crisp, Knife edge is as if the jet is nailed to a wall. Landing are super slow.

Favorite maneuvers so far....a low, very slow pass...just as the jet passes me I go to full power and pull the jet straight up and power climb...at the top I do a slow roll to inverted and pull her over and head back down for a low high speed pass in the opposite direction.

I am also having fun with maximum performance turns at show center.

My jet is cruising very very fast at 1/2 power. Full power is used sparingly and only for extreme vertical maneuvers.

I am landing after a six minute flight with 3/4 of the main tank full. I have tons of fuel reserve.

I cant say enough about this jet. Just a blast to fly. I am very impressed by the Dream works landing gear as well. Super rugged and reliable. The system holds air indefinitely and I can say this is the first jet that I did not wonder if the gear would come down.

I am going to have her out again this weekend and just cant wait to fly it again.

Well you probably figured out I love this jet. When I was originally trying to decide on the color, I was torn between the Thunderbirds and the Fly Navy. I do not like the Gray fuse on the Fly Navy and I think it looks amazing with a yellow fuse and all else the same. Well today I pulled the trigger on it! I had emailed Linda yesterday at Dreamworks and this morning she already had approval and the production date from CARF. She is just Amazing! My timing was perfect as the factory said they will get it in on next weeks production run! I will incorporate all the mods I did on the Thunderbird and otherwise equip it the same. I may go with the Electric version of the Dreamworks gear just to try something different. My Pneumatic version has performed flawlessly so far so I am not sure yet. I also ordered the Jet Tech Main and Saddle Fuel Tank Combo from Gary along with the Heavy Clunks. 3 /16" fittings all around. His service and support is fantastic.

Well All the bits and pieces for my second Flash are trickling in. I have all the servos (Futaba 9156 this time) and have already broken them in, Jet Tech Tanks, Landing Gear you name it. I have every nut and bolt needed for the second build. My new Cheetah SE will be delivered this week so all I am waiting on is the jet itself. It has been in production for about a week now so I am guessing about 2 more weeks to me door.

On another note, I put 8 more flight on my Thunderbird yesterday for a total of 21. This jet has been 100% reliable. Just fuel and fly every time (with post and pre flight inspections between every flight!). I am just dazzled by how this jet flies. Hard to believe I have been missing out on all this fun over the years. I did notice one thing however. Notice how my Bypass cover is starting to discolor. Its turning white. The engine has been running flawlessly and I have never had any type of hot start. I am guessing this is just normal from the heat in the area. Can anyone comment if there's is doing the same?

Yes, nothing to worry about. Different turbines radiate more, but the resin drying will stabilize now and the duct is doing its job protecting the wing

Thanks Dave! Another question while your on line. The pipe looks great with so signs of stress. Seems very robust. In your experience, do they hold up well with these larger turbines. My Cheetah is 36#. I thought the manual cautions against using the pipe with large engines.

Missed that. Yes, stock pipe will use any turbine you can fit. The ones around me with JetCat 180's have no pipe issues, it's the same gauge as the Tutor, Viper etc.

26 flights now and just plain giddy while flying this jet. Overall, this has to be the best jet I have ever owned!

I have the same discoloration on the bypass on my UF. I have a Jets-Munt M140xbl with a short exhaust cone. I used two coats of BVM ceramic heat paste from the inside of bypass, just at the "hot section."
