Is this the correct way to place the pads? Or do I turn the front one around? Also do I measure from base to base. Or from scale pad to scale pad? The base is larger then the scale pad.

I would turn the front one around so they all face the same way.

Ok. My first attempt at CG. I turned the front sensor around so that they all face the same direction. My distance from back of main sensor to back of front sensor is 457mm. Then measurement from back sensors to CG my " target point" is 88.9 mm. This screen shot shows my results.

This model I previously ballanced the old school finger tip way. My concern is. This plane has a retractable nose gear. That being said even though the plane shows ballanced. It should be tail heavy once gear retracts.

Over all this tool will come in handy. If you notice the weights very a gram or two on each pad. But the over all weight was the same. I placed a couple 20g calibrated weights on each pad and they read true. The only complantes I have are....
laser isn't that bright , you can see it but it would be nice if it were brighter.
The app doesn't want to run in the background.
I'm not a metric guy so I have to use Google to convert my inches to mm. Every time I minimize the app to get a metric conversion the app disconnects. So to reconnect you have to take the plane back off the pads. Unplug and start over. I'm sure this is just a glitch that can be solved easily. Very minor issues with an over all great product. Oh and the case is small and compact. Which it great except for the fact that you will never be able to wrap the cables up as neat and tight as they come. So I had to put cables in a separate bag. Just a slightly bigger case would be nice.

CG attempt #2. Boy is this thing great. Tested another model. Took less the a min to get mesurments. Again a model I previously ballanced. After plugging in the numbers. My target distance is 108mm the cg machine game me 107. Again a nose retract that retracts aft.

Ok. This is my last post for the day. It feels like I'm talking to myself. Lol. The main reason I bought this gizmo was to ballance this. My target distance is 165mm. The cg wizard has me at 163. To achieve the 165 I would need to add weight. However the EZ ballancer has me nose heavy already. My buddy is going to bring over his Xicoy and we will compare the two. The 2mm difference was a matter of adding 40g more nose weight.

Got mine today too, what a neat bit of kit, the storage box was even personalized with my name. Navy's got me hopping for the next several weeks, so won't have a chance to try it out, but just playing with it today I'm happy. Worth every penny Sandor.
Can't wait to get the non-metric app update now.

Hello:
Thanks for using CG Wizard and for you feedback.
As Sandor said, we're working on a new release of the app that lets you choose between mm or inches. I've a question about that: should the inches figures be shown in decimal is ok or they need to be fractions?
I think this new release will be available by the end of next week for Android devices, maybe a couple of days later for iPhone.
Now, coming to the ability of the app to run in background:
Is true, the app disconnects automatically when in background, this is just to optimize the battery usage of the phone.
However, even if the app disconnects from the CG Wizard, normally you don't have to take the plane off the pads as long as the CG Wizard remains powered on.
When you reconnect, the app should retrieve the same figures before the disconnection.
I will double check this afternoon, but this is the way CG Wizard is supposed to work.
Should you have any other suggestion, please let us know, it will help us to improve CG Wizard.

Cheers, Daniel

For me the fraction in inches would be easier. Like 1/8 or 1/16. That's more basic then it's much simpler to say 3/16 instead of 0.1875. As for the app. What mine will do is when I have to reconnect the app displayed all zeros. I figure because it self calibrates. So it self calibrates with the weight on the scales to zero. If I take the plane off and let it calibrate and put it back in it works just fine. If there is any testing you would like me to do just let me know. Glad to help.

After almost having a heart attack this morning I figured out a slight glitch. If you guys fully charge your power stick your unit may shut down by itself after about 15 sec If this happens to you just plug the power stick into your cell phone for 10-15 min. That will take away any high voltage from the power stick and allow the cg wizard to function correctly. This issue could of Been caused by my Quick charge adapter from my cell phone. So just a heads up if this happens to you.

On another note. My buddy who told me about the CG Wizard brought over his Xicoy and we ballanced the plane. The difference in the two units were miniscule and could of been affected by the distance calculations. Just 1 or 2 mm can make a difference. With that being said I'm glad I got this unit and feel it's accuracy is more than acceptable.
