Default Airpower EV5U question

Ok, I have a L-39 with a Airpower EV5U multi function valve and was working fine. My question/problem is I switched from the Spektrum set up to my Futaba and everything works still as far as gear goes up, gear down and the brakes work, but it is the sequencing of the doors that is off now. By that I mean everything opens when it should and closes when it should, but when the gear is up, the inner gear doors and the nose gear door will just open and close on their own. I am on Mode 2 which is what I want but just don't understand why the doors keep open and closing on their own. Not sure if it is a travel setting in the radio or what because this is the first time I have used one of these valves so hoping someone knows the simple answer because I know the valve works. Thanks in advance.

Jason,

I have quite a few of these installed in various models- simply love them. BUT, they will for no reason at all and without notice, just stop working correctly. I have over the past few years replaced 3 of them. Hope this does not mean that you are in the same situation, as alas, one cannot buy them anymore.

Cheers,

Jan

Well, just out of being curious, I took the lead for the gear and plugged it back into the spektrum receiver and cycled the gear using the DX18. The gear doors stayed closed when the gear was up like they are suppose to. So, that tells me the unit isn't bad because they stay closed when you run the gear using the "M" button on the unit itself without a transmitter. So, I guess my other question is do I need to reprogram the unit and start over like setting it up from scratch? Does the unit need to be sort of binded to the transmitter that you are using? There is obviously something the valve is seeing in the Futaba that tells it to keep opening and closing the doors when the gear is up. The end points on the DX18 are 100 both ways and its the same on the Futaba.

Jason,

Yes it is best to do a complete reprogramming of the unit on your Futaba and 'teach' the valve your TX controls, followed by the door mode, retract cycle and various other timings you need.

Cheers,

Jan
