There is a HUGE market out there for turbines, IF manufacturers will produce smaller ARF kits. Most of us don't have access to huge fields, or want trailer and large vehicles. Many of us don't want to cart around 10 gallons of kero. The average paved field is around 500-600. And with more fields closing every day and more restrictions on turbines, it makes sense to fly smaller models.

At at the moment, the only military jets for the K45 are the CJM and JHH kits, which require serious building skills. Wouldn't it be nice if KT/Pacific jets worked with one of the Asian manufacturers to bring us 65-72" size Mirage, F-16, f-15, -18, Panther, etc. The Sky-e-master series is nice, but the model offerings are too limited. Tam's F16 was great, but is out of production.

Come on manufacturers, bring us some smaller jets. If you want us to buy more engines, given us something to put them in!

+1

So much agree with all the above!

And from a business point of view, and think i said this before, what would be better.....
Selling 1 or 2 10K+ birds or 100 small ones......

Cheers,

Ed

Models have been getting TOO big lately. But I'm not a fan of small ones either. But, I digress....

Thank you to the Kingtech guys for putting out so many turbines for us!

My 1/7.75 A-10 will either have these or the new K85's! Woohoo! Kerosene for everyone!!

Doug,
My Sub-Sonex is a fun, conventional, affordable and buildable model. Will keep you in the loop!

I understand Bob, but if the K70 is dimensionally nearly the same as the K45 and fuel consumption is less as reported, why wouldn't I use it in the Sub-Sonex since my original intent to use it as an alternative to the 90mm EDF? Would like your views.....

I like the Sting jet . looks like Toms old Starfire. Tried to do an order but do not know enough German to navigate the site. Do you know if they ship internationally?

Default K70g2

Cant wait when this engine is in the states! Crazy how KT went from new comer to the top 3 maby even the leader in model turbines. Cant beat the price, reliability, quality, features, and performance. Not to mention the fuel eco and lifetime warranty, helps with less pipe wear and great coverage on the investment for each engine. Sucks to say Jets Munt will loose quite a few sales on their m70 that made some hype when it was first announced. As its still in beta, with the k70 AND k85 coming around the corner to fill that market, if they maintain the kt reliability (as im sure they will when including lifetime warranty duhh!) then the choice for the proven engines is a no brainer.

On the other side.......we need MORE AIRPLANES! As home builds are fun, but we need ARF'S MAN!!!. I would love to build a lightweight hsd j10 airframe with a k70 and put a grumania TV on it, hover, flatspins, backflips, etc. I think that would be just flat out bad*****! Also a small f22 would be great too, the largest foamie they made is a cheap ol 90mm edf f22 or twin 70mm. I want something suitable for a k70 or k85, not a JL f22 that needs 100n+. And the airplanes listed earlier in the forum are cool planes but to expensive for west coast and are not very fun airplanes. I would like more modern airframes, maby fully 3d capable sport jets and better performing scale jets. So hopefully some of these airplane makers see this forum and start R&D on some more affordable and smaller planes like HSD and T-one, they opened up the ears and listened to what we needed and are now making some serious dough because hsd cant seem to keep any airplanes or parts in stock -_-

Henke, yes, but these models' pricing are totally unreasonable for non-EU buyers. The little balsa T-33 is €1,500 and that is minus jet pipe and shipping to U.S. By the time it is here, 2,500 USD. That is crazy. And to boot, these are not exciting models.

I will bash a Phoenix Gripen long before I buy these. What we need are more military airframes in the 72" (1.8M) range. F-104, F-106, F-105, Mirage, Rafale, SU-27, F-16, Mig-21, A-7 and so on. Basically, take a page from Freewing and build some composite (or balsa) for turbine.

I can't imagine your Sonix needing more than a p20 for power, but more importantly you will be hanging more weight on the tail end of your plane, which will mean more nose weight, plus the fuel weight.

Jet fan 90 with motor weighs 452 grams, k45 700 grams, k70 720 grams that is a huge difference.!

Jetcat P20 396 grams Lambert Turbines have very similar weights to Jet Cat

So can anyone tell me what the idle thrust is for this new K70? It will be in a very slippery air frame that already does not like to slow down. I was going to put an MW44 Gold or the K45 in it.

Thats a full carbon T33 for €1500, goes like a rocket!

But yes, finding a plane in the right quality and price range to suite everyone is hard. specially when needing then available world wide at resonable shipping costs. For us MotionRC is useless but for US customers they supply the foamies at great introduction prices.
