The Swiwin 85B only weighs 60 grams more than a Kingtech 45G2, and inteairco air trap weighs the same as the included hopper tank that I'm not planning to use.

Is that installed weight or turbine only?

Bubble trap is half the capacity?

Turbine, less fuel pump and ecu. Tank is 100ml. Not too concerned about weight. I'll be well over 1:1 thrust, even at take-off. Even if my take-off weight is 7-7.5kg, it will still be almost 2kg lighter than my HSD Viper at take-off, which is similar in size/wing area and it still floats nicely on landing, with a half tank of fuel onboard still.
Not too concerned about flight time, either, as I rarely fly more than 4-5 minute flights. Fuel consumption specs for this engine are all over the map, but are around 160-180ml/min at 90% throttle, so even 'mostly' high throttle flying should be no issue.

Thrust is not the issue, it’s wing loading. Different designs, different wing sections. Lighter is always better even more so with smaller airframes.
Anyway, I’m sure it will be fine.

Remind us what turbine??
Here is a pirotti rebel with a Swiwin sw80b in it. He also has a lot more equipment in his than mine, like cortex gyro and bigger batteries. I am trying to get a weight from him.
It does come in a little hot, but that could be him getting used to it. Only a half dozen flights so far, but it looks like it scoots!

Thanks. Looks like installed weight is within a couple ounces of the sw80b. Hope to be in the same neighborhood as you. Really, hoping for around 16lb take off weight.

Nice and light. I didn't realize the Xicoy x45 was so light! Probably literally half the installed weight of my CRX 85B. Seems like if a guy was going to go with a 45 in this jet, the X45 is definitely the way to go, or at least a G3 kingtech. The G2 45 weighs almost as much as my 85!
Send pics of your install...

Hmmmmm, this is the variable electric actuator controller I've been waiting for a while.

"Direct control of 3 motors in bidirectional mode up to 12 V/5 A. Supports the different motor shut-off control types currently available (time, over current and encoder)."

Bob,
Is that dry or fully fueled weight?

No Dry weight with 2oz UAT filled. I also cut 1/3rd out of the fuel tank to reduce it 40 oz from 60.

I'm guessing T/O weight will be 12.5 lbs ???

Crazy. I'll be happy for your take off weight to be my dry weight. I'm ok with 15-16lbs take off, honestly. I bought this bird for high speed KE, point rolls, etc., and to tease the 200mph legal limit ;-).

That should be a respectable thrust to weight ratio in flight

Just out of curiosity did you consider the Micro T-One / Fortune from PacificRCJets ? It seems like an easy home for a X45 turbine

Another question...

Did you shorten the tank for weight or just to try and get the tank closer to the CG point and minimize CG shift vs fuel burn?

It looks like the Rebel Hot has its fuel tank ahead of the CG by quite a bit?

A) The X45 does not need 60oz
B) Yes I wanted to minimize CG shift

The back of the tank is exactly on the CG point. Ive not seen too many jets with the tank over the CG. I usually CG jets with an amount of fuel in the tank that I expect to have still in it when I land. I usually land with around 1/3 of a tank in my other jets. This one, being so over-powered, I expect to land with a little under 1/4 tank, so I will CG it with a quarter tank.
