Default CARF Bolt! Build thread

Well...it’s here 🙂 this is one of the very first production kits after the two Factory demonstrators that did such a lot of testing. There were quite a few lessons learnt on these airframes so the Bolt! could be released customer ready.
Its the most prefabricated model anyone has seen from CARF, they already made our lives pretty easy, but this one is another step forward.
Most of the fiddly jobs are done, the gear door system particularly is really sorted, using Electron retracts mean we know the gear is perfect and the bypass system is a breeze to install.
I’m clearing the decks and will start in earnest this weekend once the last equipment arrives.
I’m using a JetCat 220Rxi. Will fit MacGregor servos, Powerbox Mercury so we get some PB gyro figures for the manual, and I’ll use my Core radio.

few pics from the boxes.

Awesome Dave. I’ve had a kit sitting here for a few weeks now. It’s a fantastic package that I can’t wait to get started on. Let’s see who’s end up the lightest

Yours is the Honeycomb Red?

Mine will be lighter...

I saw one of these a few weeks ago. What an impressive flying plane.

Decided to start with the hated jobs, trimming the canopy, fit looks like it’s going to be easy. It comes with a tub, but I think I’ll tint it like I usually do.

That would be an interesting little match.

We will equip the Honeycomb Bolt ( at Rocket Factory) with at Jets Munt 250 (M250XBL)....

Dave W.. will you have smoke system or without smoke ?

Following!
When you get a chance, can you measure the diameter of the bypass duct that encompasses the turbine?

David

No smoke, so if Danny weighs the tank and pump we can add that on.

The duct is 6” 150mm dia

It would be great if they offered a canopy option that was solid and just painted like some other sport jets. I hated fitting the canopy on my Ultra Flash EVO as well Dave.

Too many visitors/tech calls today so not much progress. Canopy glass is in. Carbon join line tape needs cleaning down to match hatch thickness.

So, your canopy tint turns out MUCH more clear than mine. What's your secret? I used Tamiya on my Ultra Flash.

There is no tint yet! That is the clear glass, it’s just the black interior making it look dark🙂

If you spray you can add a little black into clear lacquer and get a very soft tint.

83 1/2” without and 103 1/8” (2619mm) with.
Which was a good job as my van is 2650mm bulkhead to door 😀
