Will add missile rails to aid vis, but ready to go !

PS ZFW but with full UAT exactly 6 kilos 13.2 pounds !
Did you ever fly the F-16 David? Any pics of the finished model?

I,m afraid covid and a few other projects have delayed the first flight. It is complete, fully equipped, just waiting for some paint touch up, hangar rash !
Nothing exciting, standard air defence grey, but I may add underwing tanks to improve visibility. One of the “other projects” is to rengine my BVM F4 from its heavy Pegasus to my newly arrived Xicoy 180 which should reduce weight by about 3 pounds and with lower burn. Another project has been to rebuild my old Avonds F15 shot down 15 years ago ! It is now ready for paint and a Xicoy 120, should fly very well.
I will post a picture and flight report of the F16 as soon as . Roll on spring !

I had the YA F16 which was the brother to the BVM. It sat in the warehouse unused for years until about 3 4 years ago I decided to renovate and convert it into a turbine.
I reinforced it in the wings area, and several reinforcements in the fuselage itself.
It powered with the Kingtech K70 on it and it weighs about 7 kg. It flies like a demon.
Recently I sold it, and I am convinced that the buyer will enjoy it for years to come.

I've got a partially built BVM F-16 and I'm going to put an Xicoy 85 in eventually. I'm hoping to mount it right in the tail so I can get plenty of fuel in the model.

Previously I flew one with a VT 80 mounted where the fan used to be but struggled to get ample fuel capacity into it due to space. The model flew great but was a little heavy. Unfortunately, I lost it after a flame out and couldn't get back to the strip.

Covid and some other projects delayed flight tests of my F16.,
Just completed a full checkout to ready it for spring flying.
Only problem is one brake is leaking.
Does anyone have an unwanted brake unit (or 2) from a retired or deceased F16 which they. are willing to sell ?
Happy new year to you all.

Happy New Year’s David! I wish you well to find brake o-rings. I don’t recall what they were. Those gear have to be 20 years old. I’ve had good luck finding odd orings on Amazon. Or contact Robbie at BVM.

Best wishes for the maiden! Dan

Hi David
If you can, post a pic of the part you need, because I have lots of BVM old part, most of The Bandit parts, and BVM air parts for the old Bandit which I not sure it is similar to the F16, but maybe I will find something of which what you need.

Avi

Hi Avi,
Thats most kind of you. Please see the attached of the brake unit ( and wheel) .
The brake is 3 cm in diameter.
Any help warmly appreciated as I wont fly the 16 without functioning brakes.
Thank you again
, David.

What about having a new brake hub machined via one of the online machining services? I’ll also tell my buddy about this thread as he has an F16 from 1991 that maybe he can be persuaded to swap brake drums with you.

Great idea, I have contacted Hawe in Germany to see if they can do it.
That said, if your friend is prepared to swap ( I guess his 16 is retired) that would be ideal.,
Happy to cover all costs.
Do please keep me posted !
Many thanks, David.

Hi David
Sadly, my friend, seems to me that I can't help you.
Attached a pic. of the brake unit, and it is not similar to your brake and the diameter is not the same, as it is 2.75cm.
Sorry my friend I couldn't help you
Avi

Hi Avi, Thank you so much for trying.
The brake unit you show is the same as my BobCat brakes, and, ironically, I have a couple of spares !
I think I will need to have one made for the 16.
Thank you, again.
David.
