Solid rubber tires ??

Hi.
Anyone knows if and where you can get solid rubber tires that replaces Robart 2 3/4 inch wheels?
On the ViperJet, I have Skymaster rims (same as Robart, but in aluminum) with Robart 2 3/4 inch tires. Problem is that the tires are way to soft, even though I have put some foam in them.
By the way... does the original Robart foam inserts make the stock tires hard enough for a 25-30 lb. jet??
I would be great if I could replace only the tires, so I don't have to a complete new set of wheels and brakes. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello Stallen,
In the past, I have used Robart tires on heavy planes with this method: Go to your local hardware store and find rope or cord that will fit tightly in the Robart tire. I have used both nylon and cotton cord. I tried the foam as you did and had no luck either.

Flyboy,
If you are gonna be flying off grass, go with as large as you can, 3" on the mains and 2 1/4 to 2 1/2" on the nose. If flying off pavement, you can put whatever size wheels you want.

Stallen,
In fact , the rim that you show on the photo is from an new company call " Air Power Models". They have the solid rubber tries to fit this rim. (or Robart rim). Their web site is www.airpowernet.com The tires very strong, but just not too light.

I need some of those tires as well. My rim is a little different than the one shown above. Mine are what comes with a Hot Spot. Can you get them from Graupner?I need them pretty bad, I have holes in mine, ridin on foam.
I didn't have any luck with airpower site. They had a photo of tires, but that's it.
Thanks, Randy

I know they make solid tires for Skymaster F-15 /18, but those are bigger than on the Viper. Hope they also make them in 2 3/4 inch.

Staale,
They only have 2 1/4, 2/1/2 & 3/1/4 tires for now. We use their tires for the F-15, F-18, and Gripen. (US Version). e-mail to Al's hobby in U.K. , they might have some.
Kmurray& Randy,
Call me, we have a lot of these tires and rims. we can sell as set or individual.

Do you know if their 2 1/2 tire fits the rim of the Robart 2 3/4 inch tire? My rims are 1,5 inch OD.
