Eddie, where are you gonna find a RAM Engine valued at <3,500?
I don't really see this as a real problem.. you know.. comming up with an engine
That remindes me of something.. I know a guy who got his brand new
RAM 1000, many years ago, test ran it, it broke a bearing and while it was still hot
he through it in the trash, with the ECU. It was too funny to hear him tell it.
He was not mad or anything. he said "clank.... oh well.... so much for that"
Guardian: Steve is ahead of you... by a lot

Steve,
Your plane looks good and looks like it has potential, but alas like the Crapcat I have to see it fly to become a believer. BTW why are you farting around with such challenges as this when you have a hun to finish?

In one hand, is good to see people with enthusiast trying to do crazy thinks like flying RC over 500mph...
But been realistic, unless you have A LOT of money to develop technologies that does not exist yet or too EXPENSIVE to access, is better if you buy a Hot Spot and Begin from the basic 125 mph.
Besides, you'll need one of these:
Good luck.-
Miguel.

im pretty sure he's imployed in avaition research. and i really wish to see his plane go 500MPH. a lil word of advice, get a HAM liscense and put a HAM radio on it. then you can get a range of like 20 miles. also, i'd put a camera on the nose so you can see where your going! lmao

R..O..F..L..M..A..O ..too. WOW.. how about 500 mph straight up ...would that qualify for the [weeks challenge]? guardian should use the design that i did ...nasa got it pretty fast ....1/10 scale speed would be 450+...or maybe he should get with the dude that was wanting 200mph with 50lb. payload.

Best to add a CAI Warp Field controller onto the anti-matter stream, then you won't need to stand as far back!

No project of this magnitude could possible be built without a fair amount of prepreg unatanium.

Oh sure, and if you get a 1.2% field mis-match between the third stage damper and your storage bottle -- Poof -- just call our little home third cinder from the sun.

Ah geeze Steve ... you owe me a new keyboard and T-shirt, coz you just caused me to emit coffee over both.

Says RPM 1:
" Ok here is the link.
http://www.hessenbruch.de/niels/movies/Jets_ueber_Trebur.mpg"
--------------------------------------------------------------
A few corrections, since I suppose that most of you can´t read German. As I read on the page http://www.hessenbruch.de/niels/ the video mentioned above is of a precursor model of the record jet, powered by a Behotec J66 (max. thrust 75N) and a maximum measured speed of 395 km/h (245 mph).
The record jet (max. speed 571 km/h = 355 mph as measured with a GPS) was powered by a Behotec JB130 (max. thrust 135N), had a takeoff weight of 7 kg = 15 lb (incl. fuel) and a wing load "beyond good and bad" (according to Niels). The flight was done in the Tschechian Republic, since in Germany it is forbidden to fly faster than 463 km/h at a height below 10,000 ft.
It´s a pitty that for the FAI R/C jets simply don´t exist, so we have to go by unofficial records and ignore the stubborn incredulity of the AMA freaks on this forum (there cannot be what may not be according to AMA rules). I wish there was an AMA-free jet forum.

I really don't see how"speed limits" can be effectively enforced other than at sanctioned events. I think unenforceable laws/regulations are often counterproductive.
What is really needed is fliers with good judgemet and common sense. Sometimes those virtues seem sadly lacking.
