Bela,it`s 6.5 scale. It`s easier to just say 6 scale sometime`s,there`s no explaining to do about the .5.I`ll be posting some new pics in a day or so.
Thanks for the positive comments.

I am sad to say that Mike passed away a short while ago. He was 39 and a non smoker and died of lung cancer. Enjoy life and reach for the stars because we only get to do this once and you never know where the end is.

Wow, I am sorry to hear the loss. My father in law died within six weeks of finding out he had lung cancer. It is very painful to see someone you care for go so quick and painfully.

]Man that's unfortunate............my regards to Mike's family. Definately looks like a cool plane that is not out there, would be really cool to see it flying one day, hopefully someone will finish it in Mikes honor?

Ralph,
All in good time. We are still working on the project, but its been slow lately. After the holidays I will have some new pictures and more details. Also should have more on the landing gear by then. We are thinking of making it all out of composites and few metal parts. All in all it should be very interesting. Have big plans for the bird and it needs to be done right.

Hello Rojeck:
I am very happy for that you follow the construction of the A-6. It is a fantastic model.
I am sorry very much the loss of your friend. Indeed, my condolences.
Best regards and good luck with the project. I will wait for the photos.

Could the sanding/filing/etc have caused the cancer?
How long had he been in the hobby ?

Well Mike did composite tooling for full size boats for a number of years in the mid to late ninties. accelerated Silicosis was the first thing Mike was told and was put on medication to prevent further damage to his lungs.A bio. was done and thats when the cancer was discovered. From that point he lived a short time after enduring 2 colapsed lungs and the resulting surgeries to repair the leaks in addition to the raidiation treatment and the breathing equipment he was forced to wear.Through all that he still managed to be concerned about the Prowler and various other projects.Being as close to Mike as I was and reading you guys comments about the project is pretty cool. Thanks Turbulence and Rojeck.
Here afew shots of Mike and the Prowler.

Shane,
The name of the guy that did the Prowler for the "Flight of the Intruder" movie is Mark Hambledon of DCU in Aneheim, Ca.
Mark built two of them for the movie, and may still have the tooling. The last time I was at his shop in Aneheim he had another model hanging from the ceiling...complete.
He moved to somewhere in Texas a few years ago.
Are you lurking out there, somewhere, Mark?
