Mike,

I've got several Bees and they all run great. I've got one in my Yellow F-18 and two in my Yellow F-15, all great running motors. I'm thinking of a Yellow Starfire and a Bee right now, should make a very light setup. If you got questions give me a call.

I have started my Bee turbine and i get a big hot start when it pops off. The first thing that happens is the glow plug lights and the gas valve opens up and it pops off, and then the starter kicks in and the flame settles down. I would think the starter should start first and then the glow plug and then the gas that way there would not be a big build up of gas in the motor. Can some one help me out there should be some way to set this up in the ecu.I have call Artes jet USA and thay have help me out some, but there are out of Town now and I have call the other dealer ,but he has not returned my phone calls.

Thanks

I was told ( to be confirmed) that Gaspar Espiell who designed the Fadec offers a software upgrade so that the starter is switched on before the gaz valve. (we had the same problem with another turbine).

Check with http://fadec.espiell.com/inicia.htm

Mike:

Thanks for the compliment. Glad to be of help even if it is Sunday. By now you should have received a call from Mexico City and your start problem resolved. The two parts you are in need of will be shipped from our factory direct to you. Contact me anytime for assistance with any issues you may have. If I cannot resolve via email or land line, a call to the factory will get it done.

Best regards,
Eric Clapp

We added an old Jr or Futaba switch between the Fadec and the gaz valve (no change in the wiring needed). With the switch off, begin the start cycle and wait for the starter to kick in before opening the switch. Smooth start every time.

How are your BEES running now??? I haven't heard of any problems with hot starts. I purchased mine from Paul at Artes USA. He pre runs them and makes sure they are properly set up before shipping them off to a customer. I believe minus Jesus and Philepe Paul has the most experience with these engines ( in the U.S). It is just an added + to deal with a rep that knows what he is doing. Artes turbines is lucky to have him as a representative. He has made my transition to turbine flight a great one!! I now own four jets all powered by Artes turbines purchased from paul,,

Glad to hear you are very satisfied with your Artes Turbines. Also, thanks for the post with your experiences. The Artes team thanks you as well. It is important to mention that all Artes Trubines are run and tested at the factory three times prior to shipment. At the end of the final test, the serial number is logged, parameters noted, turbine checked over completely then packed and shipped to Distributor, Dealer or customer. This testing procedure ensures the customer will receive a product ready to install and fly. In the case of WD40's Bees, the issue was part installation and part component;specifically the gas solonoid and one restrictor. The important issue here is, the fact the Artes team, Paul,Eric and Felipe from the factory jumped on this problem immediately. Knowing one person cannot be all things to all people, our combined efforts culminating with Felipe Nieto, General Manager Artes Jet resolved WD40's issues 100% to his satisfaction and within 48 hours! Team effort; it's that simple! We pride ourselves in total customer satisfaction and with a Distributor on the West Coast and a Distributor on the East Coast, the business hours available each day to our dealers and customers is substantial. If we do not have the answer, count on us to get it. And in short order. Again, thanks for using Artes Turbines.
