"Functional ejection seat with scale paracutes".....what exactly are you planning [X(]
Awesome, really really awesome...

Thanks
In the event the jet goes into failsafe, both turbines shutdown, the canopy releases and shears off, pulling with it the first stage parachutes, pilots and seats, the main parachutes then deploy on the drop.

RE: Can I get a WITNESS???
So being that I kina got "Dissed" on my initial attempt to do my maiden flight at a military base.
I figured who else to go to but.....................GRANDPA! "Ummm, can you kind of give me a hand please?"
So at 85 years old, my grandfather (an original Tuskegee airman as most know) says....................."Ok, let me do some "running around."
After literally two months of phone calls and negotiating by my grandpa. Finally an ok was given for me to come out for a "meeting with the Base commander and two subordinates." This meeting lasted two hours and was more of an interview on what kind of test I would be conducting, stats on the jet etc.
I was then given a preliminary................."ok" pending further coordination.
"Ahhh................grandpa?.....................h ow did you pull that off?"
He says...................." I had to go all the way to the top!"
And then gives me this picture. [X(]

RE: Can I get a WITNESS???
Bryce my man -- that airplane is over the top. Excellent job! I thought you were just a good stick ;-)
Your grandpa is one hip lookin' dude. Much like the other P51 drivers of his day (Chuck Yeager, Bob Hoover etc.) he looks very sharp and with it. I bet he could get into the cockpit of a P51 and do a good job flying it.
Best of luck in Hungary.
By the way, is there a delay on when your chutes pop if the plane goes into failsafe?

Man just sitting on the ground without flying it should give you 1st place. Great job Bryce. Don't mess with GRANDPA
I knew grandpa would pull it off [sm=thumbup.gif].
Good Luck on your test flight.
P.S Press date is JUN 13 [X(]
We in south Florida can't wait to hear the full detail

RE: Can I get a WITNESS???
All was readied for the official date of June 13, 2005 at 11am.
Then the night before I was all set to go, I accidentally tried to change some throws and do some mixing on the wingsweep, rates/tailerons etc. AND LOST EVERYTHING IN THE MODEL MEMORY!!![:@]
Always remember when it says "Are you sure?" "Yes........No" MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO DO! (did'nt help that for the prior 4 days I was up until 6 am, sleep till 10am then stay up again till 6............I was a bit.............fatigued.)
So with Media from everywhere, and literally people coming from Canada, Mexico and all over the US, either by car or plane.
And me working along with Ronnie from JetMart USA in Georgia and Felipe from Mexico and two local hobby shops being closed so they could attend.
I WAS A NO SHOW!!![X(] (This was the worst feeling, I have ever had.) Thank you to everyone for all of the support and patience.
The scene at the house.

RE: Can I get a WITNESS???
After getting everything back to working again, the maiden flight was scheduled for Tuesday. Same time 11am.
In a haste to "get there" a few items were accidentally left.................like...................the hatch, data terminal and a couple other small items.
Once again.
A delay...........................extreme patience on the part of the reporters, organizers and spectators while another trip was made back to the house by the U FLY HOBBIES support team to pick up critical items. THANK YOU ALL.
Meanwhile.............................a two mile drive was made back to the "test runway"

RE: Can I get a WITNESS???
And another hour.......................and another etc.............
(another trip had to be made back to the house after we needed the data terminal to change engine parameters..................and I needed a transmitter charger for the 14MZ because the quick charger for the Lithium Ion battery is on back order and my transmitter was down to 42% So we had to wait for the charge(I know..........GEZUS!)

RE: Can I get a WITNESS???
Finally..................................
At approximately 6:30 pm, both engines were fired up simultaneously (I just wanted to fly at this point, no time to make it look pretty.)
And off she went roaring into the sunset. (literally)

After flying several circuits checking different things on the list.......................14MZ is cool because you can program voice checklists into it and hit the switch to hear the next thing on the list.

RE: Can I get a WITNESS???
After 7 minutes or so of this business, it was time to think about landing.
Except..........................
One small problem..............................THE WINGS WON'T COME BACK FORWARD!
Anyhow.....................knowing I had to land one way or the other, I began to slow down at high altitude and of course the F-14 began to drop like a brick..........................so................. ...Full Power.............and she slowly starts coming back up again.
So I go smokin around the pattern again and set up on a long, high final and slowly start pulling the power back..........jet starts sinking and I switch to high elevator rate.................no help................push power up and descent rate slows but never stops.
