I want to share the new struts for my hotspot with you.
introduction:
till now I used the original Eurokit retracts and struts. both worked great, the 6mm steel pin , connecting the retract and the leg failed however. we fly at a smooth gras runway. once hard landed and this steel pin was bent. more worse, during rolling on the gras for take off, sometimes this piece of junk bent again. in the better case this led to an incomplete gear up situation. the worse case was, gear completely up, and switching to gear down for landing, one or both struts failed to come out.
therefore I decided to replace the week steel pin by a hardened steel one. this resulted in a severe damage of the retract mounting blocks after an emergancy landing.

last week I was happy to see the new struts from P. Liebetrau. I decided to replace the old Eurokit ones.
it took me two hours, a little grinding had to be done due to the linkage.

disadvantage: the fuselage does not accept the retract completely, there are 4mm left. This does not hurt, I do not use gear doors.
I think it is possible to fix this problem by using two washers between the retracts and retract mounts (only outer side).

advantage:
low price, I paid 20Euro for one leg (maybe it was an introductory price?)
till today five flights withaout any damage to the gear.
after replacing the missing part of the wheel cutout.

yes, I did not have any problems with the new struts.
however, the ones I ordered for my friends had a severe price increase and they cost approx 40 euro.

Sounds great in spite the price
. 40 Euro, is that for a pair?
How many grass-field flights has they survived yet?
The kit is an Eurokit, is'nt it, do you have the series number, or anything?
How large wheels do they take??

as far as I remember price is 42euro for one strut.
I use diameter 75mm wheels. max 85mm are possible.
I think, i did 10 grasfield flights since my first post.
the picture on post #1 shows the eurokit struts. the new ones are from P. Liebetrau http://www.jet-team-liebetrau.de/

Thanks again, mec! (nice site, this: www.mbc-erlauftal.at/ )
Still acceptable, price - if they are worth it.
Well 15 grass flights without damage is more than none....
Hmm, do you have any ID of the structs, so I can tjeck with Liebetrau, or search on RCuniverse?
..at Eurokit's homepage I grapped the following struct, looking quite like yours:
