Easytiger,

Put a piece of lithoplate around the pipes under the coupler and it will last as long as the pipe. If you need some, let me know and I will bring a piece the next time I come to NY.

Sorry to hear about the crash.

I went ahead and ordered that A7 from Towerhobbies. From what you said Easy, sounds like a perfect jet for me. Only thing is the landing gear. But I have faith in ya I've been debating whether to get the futaba 6XAS or the comparable Airtronics RD6000 sport. I already have a futaba reciever i'd like to use with them. Any words? Have you heard anything good/bad about any of those transmitters?

Futaba is fine. Treat yourself to the 9c if you can!
If you have other Futaba stuff, stick to Futaba. Or Hitec. Nothing really wrong with Airtronics.
I have one 9c transmitter, and a dozen receivers, Hitec and Futaba, and a multitude of different servo brands. All share the same frequency and connectors and transmitter. I have a memory module that will hold 16 different models, and an extra 8 on another chip if I need them.
The 9c cost around $350 with a receiver and servos, and the rest of the radio stuff I have accumulated over the years, so I am not talking about a $1200 outlay or anything. Treat yourself for another $150 over what a six channel would cost and you won't be buying another radio for years!
I got a PM from Beachjet, who flew his Corsair and had the same pleasant time with his as I did...it's a fun airplane. A great first jet.

I'm shy TWO pipes right now! I bet tower can provide you with one, or try the Mac's pipe for .15's. I am running one on one of my Toki's, no problem at all...it was under $20...

Really! I have not tached both, but the Mac's DOES look smaller...I don't have any of the black Kyosho ones at all. Pretty sure they are available, though.
Right now I have a friend working on getting me two spare Toki pipes and one header, somehow I ended up missing some.
The LATEST toki pipe goes on weston-style, no coupler at all, but I only have one of those engines.

Well, I'll be dipped in S***.
That's outrageous. That's just WRONG.
Try going to a good hobby shop that sells RC cars. THey had a whole bunch of different tuned pipes, all sorts of stuff. Not all have the exhaust coming straight out the back, but when you think about it, so what? And they are tuned to the OS 15CV, no problem.
Before laying out $80, I would lay out a little more and get a whole new Toki setup...

Right now, I don't have a spare one. If I get some spare parts, like one rotor and those pipes, then I will!
Try adding more power on the landing to keep the kangaroo hop away, that will probably do the trick.
The A7 is mighty bouncy if you try to bring it in at idle, too. Same thing.

Add a spoiler. That's what we did in the old RC sailplane days!
I just added one to my BVM Viper. Only took a few hours. Pop the spoiler, and she's down and staying down.
Maybe you can just use a mix on the ailerons?

Just a panel in the center section, or one in each wing, maybe an inch wide, and six inches across, that pops up with a servo...

Easy,
I just bought my 1st jet, (Followed the thread on here to ebay and bought the HB A-7 for $239.00). With all the good things you say, I look forward to flying it.
I'll do some build pics, and post them soon as I have it done. Email from ebay seller says it ships on the 3rd of Jan. (I cant wait)

Default RE: Movie

I have the stock HB A7. Flew it but want more power without having to change the engine.
I'm gong to try flapperons for takeoff, as I'm flying from grass. (with bigger wheels)
I have flown it many times already but want some info/instruction on how to make the tailpipe smaller at the exit and what effect this has and why.
I've seen the A7 edf conversion has a smaller tailpipe exit, just wondered if this would give me a little more speed.
Please help
Dave
