600$, you must be joking. Dream on buddy.
I hate to think how much it will cost to send one to Cyprus.
Is it worthwhile designing this jet for one or two people???
You are killing a great model before it gets established with your prices & carriage.

Edit. Sorry reply meant to Airpac.

Regards

Jim

Jim,
The F-4 box is very big. The dimensions are 195cm (76.7" ) x 61cm (25.6" ) x 40cm (15.7" ). You may be able to find your shipping carrier or calculate your own and that will give you an idea on how much it will cost to ship by air to Cyprus .

You are here: » Catalog » Jets Kits/Accessories » F-4E Phantom II »
F-4E Phantom II ARF $9,999.00

The F-4E is currently in pre-production and not yet available for purchase.
This price from the Airpac site does look a little steep.
Gary,

For the price $9999 in the web site we actually don't have a complete price. MLaCoste & Adil already explain the reason. Once we do have the completed price we will be posting it for US market.

Eric,

I knew the F-4 was not priced at $9999.99. My post was in response to Jascats statement below. I should have put one of these at the end of my earlier post. Sorry for the rub.

OK as promised!!:

As alredy mentioned, The box is huge. Very well packed and took a while to get everything unwrapped etc.
Initial expression I had was "man that's a big sucka !!" I did take some pictures but as you can tell, I'm not a great cameraman either

I have to say that I am more than impressed. The detail, Fit and finish is better than anything I've seen on ANY ARF. The wing to fuse joint etc. are perfect. The plane is SOLID. No flimsy material anywhere. The main fuse former is 1/4 ply-CF cloth-1/4 ply and perfectly glued so it ain't going anywhere.

The wings attachment is excellent. The above post that the wing attachment is not adquate is a joke. There are two 1/2 solid CF rods and one of them DOES go through and through. The rear one goes in a phenolic tube about 6" and resides in an AL clamp to retain the wing. hope the pictures explains... The Ail and Flaps are live hinged with gap seals - VERY NICE

The stabs have zero play and I like the mount etc. Steel shaft between ball bearings with 1/8" AL dual control arms. The scale actuator is present on the outsides of fuse and they do rotate with the stabs (nice touch)

All glue joints are nice and clean and no gaps that I witnessed so far. I may encounter some as I build but .....

Vertical stab is neat as it has dual CF rods as attachment as well as machined grove/tubes/arm supplied for a complete internal and solid mechanism

I would like to see SM update the rails for the retracts though. They are simple (maybe ample) 1/4 ply. I think I'm going to laminate them ahead of time with CF for added strength.

Did I sy this is a BIG plane ??

That's all I can think of at this time so If you have any questionsjust ask...

I'm VERY happy with this updated SM product. If it flies as good as it seems, SM definitely has a winner....

Here are some poor quality pictures

REgards,

Adil

Buck,

I believe there is room for ANY turbine currently available inside this monster. Your AT-450 should be just a drop-fit.

Mine will have an Jet Central Rhino to complete the Rhino

PS. I did not stop at starbucks either !!

Hi Dave,

I posted at the same time as you....

I believe there is plenty of room for the Chute. If I feel a little creative, I may try to fit one from JMP that I have sitting around.

For some exceptional modellers as yourself, I believe this Rhino has tremendous potential with detail and external stores etc.

Regards,

Adil

Buck, you learn fast. There are a few other spots that will make starbucks look like a dog show.

Eric,

Looks like a very impressive bird there. Now all you have to do is get BV to write the instruction book for you so your customers can turn around and try to sell them for $13K!

Hi Eric: Would you care to answer my question about a realistic delivery date? Thx!
Since the factory very busy in production for many different new ARF plus planes, and we need wait for enough quantity to ship by ocean container. Because of this our new estimated time of arrival for our F-4 will be about 2 months. If this plane was to sent by air it would cost well over $600.00. We thank you for your patience and we are sure that you would be happy with this great plane.

Eric. I don't want to mention other manufacturers here, but as an example, how can another manufacturer offer worldwide delivery for $150 on any product? Are they getting cheap rates from DHL? At their product prices, they cannot be subsidising shipping from them.

Regards

Hey Adil (or Eric), any idea of total fuel capacity with the stock tanks? I know Buck's drooling to drop an AT450 in one...and I'm not far behind him...it'd be nice if we could fit at least 100-120 oz inside.

I believe your question should ask that manufacturer. I already give you the dimension of the box. You can check DHL (or UPS, FedEX) for the standard rate compare to our discount shipping fee. I believe that most of manufacturers charge the similar rate or higher. Also just let you know, the box is 2 to 3 times bigger then the planes that charged $150 shipping fee.
