I am looking at buying a PST 1300 But i am having trouble finding a US supplier.
Where are you guys getting your PST engines from?
i don't want to have to send it out of the country for service, like what has happen to the Simjet i bought.
Thanks in advance..................JOHN

Check out www.pstna.com Dean Wichman (www.helijet.ca) from canada has been the North American supplier. He is very easy to deal with and very helpful. As far as service on the PST engines, Carlos from RTI does the service on the PST engine in the U.S. You can still send it back to the manufacturer if you wish but Carlos does a nice job and is located in Florida. Let me know if you have any other questions. I don't have experience with the 1300 but i have a 600R and it is a great little engine!

Hi John,
As stated above, Carlos / RTI provide engine core servicing. Just to clarify though, for all other service options, troubleshooting, ECU crash damage and software upgrades, I maintain North American customers out of Vancouver. I also hold PST's warrantee stock of 600R and 1300R parts in Vancouver. Now this is of coarse in Canada, but I'm ~20 min from the boarder and I maintain a US shipping address just for this purpose. You still never ship it out of the country so there's no chance of losing a turbine in customs or the associated delays, since I personally handle the import and export.

I got another question. I'm asking for my friend who owns one 1300. His turbine start and run perfect. Is after cool down whe he is going to start it again he notice that the shaft is stuck and don't move freely. He have to move the compressor wheel by hand to losse the movement of the shaft to be freely. Then the turbine continue to run perfect. What could be causing the shaft to stuck after cool down?
Thanks

Alejandro,
That's not uncommon, particularly with newer engines... Its a result of using full-compliment bearings and its not a problem if the shaft comes free again with relatively little torque. I've seen it on a variety of turbines from production units right down to home built engines... Once turning again, the balls should spread out nicely in the races and the rotational drag will be greatly reduced. As the motor gets some time on it, this shouldn't happen nearly as often. If the engine ever runs 'dry' from a clogged lubrication orifice, that's another story... The 1300R shouldn't have that problem though, since it's got a 'last chance' fuel filter under the front cover of the engine.
On the other hand, if the shaft is frozen in place and very difficult to get moving again on any turbine, obviously you should consult the manufacturer or service centre.

Thanks Kelly. One of the pals in the club told us the same about the bearings type. And yes it is a new engine only ten fligths so far. My friend is using the recomended oil-fuel mix as in the manual. The performance of this engine is excelent. It's powering a SM F-15 with authority. I'm thinking in getting one of this for my SM Hawk and hold the P-80 until the panther arrive.
Dean don't forget to send me the shipping costs.
Thanks again

I also think PST (Dean and Kelly) provide some of the best service around. I crashed one of my jets and the PST 600R ECU was destroyed, but I'm back to flying due to their great support. They are very easy to deal with.
