Hilarious or not this is exciting, in a couple of ways, to me and maybe others. I’ve had a lot of fun and great success with EDF but I have been on my own.
I had hoped to get into something larger and now BVM just might be the answer. I think working, affordable, large EDF are hard to come by and there is not much support for large EDF in the states (from manufacturers) so, you are kinda’ on your own. BVM will change this, I hope, with supply and support, with a product that will work time and time again. And if Tom at JMP would do an E-max and Larry at JHH with an E-turbax, they would have my complete support also.
To bring the Viper back for EDF, small turbine, and GDF, yes, I’m excited (at an affordable price I hope)! BVM just might bring competition to a slow and stagnant market. Other manufactures will now have to step up to the plate if they want to survive in large EDF. Hopefully it will bring the cost down in large EDF and that is a win for all. Plus it might rejuvenate scratch building and we could all see something new.
I have been quietly watching this part of the hobby for a long time now and I can count on one hand the amount of people who are doing this successfully and only for the passion of doing so. Congrats guys you deserve all the press.
I just want to continue to hobby ducted fans, gas and electric. Some of us just like fans! And if BVM’s got em’ I’ll buy em’.
……..And in the end this is just an opinion and you know, “opinions are like a**holes, everyone’s got one and they all stink.” I’ll be gone tomorrow, so…….. laugh away!

Thanks
But what I was trying to say with the video was more about 8 year old $56.00 fan units and 119.00 motor that has been available for some time. The 90mm EDFs are capable of doing what Jeff was talking about without a bungee or being too small. Bungee is an option these days for 90mm fans and its a handy options for the ones that lack prepared fields.

I think people are confused because BV had a new ARF Bandit sitting next to the EVF Viper and it was the bandit that was the new ARF not the Viper as BV said it is not yet a go for production but still in it's testing phase. BV stated that he wants to bring some of his older scale KITS back with EVF power. I never heard him say anything about an ARF Viper...

Vincent,
The one man SWAT Team (P. Richards) is correct. If they do release the Viper it won't be an ARF. It will definately be a built up wing and glass fuse. I was told by my contact at BVM yesterday that they had a lot of people interested in the Viper.
Regards, Bill
