We're staying in the town also and could arrange to meet up. The old town is great for restaurants. The last 2 years we've had an amateur male choir from Munchen Gladbach? staying in the hotel also. They ended up with one chap carted off to hospital with a heart attack and the police being called to sort out another. I slept through it all. They sang before all this like a gentle Welsh male voice choir. That was 2 years ago. Last year they were well behaved. A lovely wine growing area with a wine fest hopefully in the village up the road. I'll try and scan a street map when I get time. Best transport to the field is to hire a car. In the town, use a taxi for restaurants,

Mind that Weiss beer is soemthing else and our Irish friends DO know how to party properly.
"Bratwurst and pomme frites mit mayonnaise und gross bier" I am feeling like Homer Simpson already! It will be so good to meet the faces behind the wit and posts here, as ever sharing a common goal of enjpying life with things that go "shooooosh" in the air!

Sandor,
You have it wrong, because our pubs (used!) to close at 11 we have to get all the drinking DONE by then, AND have a Curry or Kebab on the way home, that takes real men..................
And those that can't do that have to start a fight on the way back over some ugly bird usually called his wife!!!!

Hallo, my dear friends,
I am happy to meet so much of you at JetPower 2006. You all will love this event with three days full of jetflying and party in the evenings. There are unfortunately no busses going to the airfield, you need a car because it is a long way to go by feet from Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler to the airfield which is on the top of a hill.
You can try to get hotels on the internet at www.bad-neuenahr-ahrweiler-online.de
If you fail, I will help you. Please send an email to [email protected]
I am happy to meet you all at our kerosin-bar on the airfield. The first good German beer ( it is called "Kölsch", because Cologne is very neer ) is on me.
If you have more questions, please send me an email.
Best regards
Winnie

Gazzer,
It's a secret! Even to me at the mo as I haven't booked anywhere just yet!
There are a few nice looking hotels up in the hills but not sure yet. You booked anywhere yet?

Sure have and a few of us are staying there, Treadstone, Jascat, Cairoman
Were booked into www.hotel-ahrbella.de it looks both good value and comfortable, its also not too far away but appears taxi or whatever would be necessary.
Thomas Esser is the proprietor and a very pleasant bloke and bilingual if you don't live up to your surname!!!!

Do you by any chance know what hotel the female choir is staying at. I think us guys from the US would prefer to stay there, and let you chaps hang out with the male choir.[:-]
