Comp ARF Flash update

For those of you that have seen the gear install, how do you think it will hold up on a grass field? Our field is relatively smooth and cut short. I know the struts will be fine but how about the mounts? Thanks in advance.

Fine!
They were flown off grass all weekend in Germany without a hitch
Mounts are carbon reinforced, no problem expected

Thanks Dave, I added the C36 gear to my flash order today. I should see my all white flash and retracts in 2 weeks or so. What servos do you have in your elevators and could I fit an 8611a on each?

For those of you awaiting a Flash in the states, I believe the container arrives here on the 7th. I am told shipping should follow soon after. Not sure about the gear -- they lagged my Lightning kit by almost three months.

I have JR 8321 (UK version of 8311) on elevators, I don't think the 8611 will fit, it's too big.
8311 or 8411 is fine
Regards

no matter how rigid they are , strait legs will always want to break out backwards.
and the pilots that show you those models are very good pilots , so for the other 90% out there there will be trailing legs to catch even the worst landing attempts.......

Thanks Sandor I have the Jet1A on both my boomerangs. Will the Jet1A's work without modification to the Flash?

RE Elevator servos for the Flash. The manual says that 8411 servos are recommended . The 8611's are a silly mm too high on their sides, covers will not fit flush. Two 8411's will do the job. WHMC

Bob, what do you think of the gear?
Is this yours or mine?

There better be one in that container for both of us!

Dave, thanks! Do you have or know of any other pictures of the inside installation of the flash? Seems like there is plenty of room. I'm thinking about using the wren pipe, what are your thoughts about it in this application? It is single walled and this is my first plane with an exhaust pipe. Thanks for answering all my questions and I will post when my plane gets here.

The kit comes with the pipe...use it, it fits and has mounting points works well, runs cool...
I'd use this pipe with any of the possible power plants.
Will do more install shots tomorrow

That sounds great Dave, I think I go stock on the pipe. Do you know if the elevator servos are mixed and one is reversed or are both standard. I'll be making some orders today and will order on 8411 reversed if needed. Thanks for your advise.

Guys
Today I made another 5 flights with the Flash, she is now dialed in as nicely as my Lightning.
My impressions from the first flight were not changed today-nice aeroplane!
Trevor Skedge managed to get some video on the first flight today, by the 5th I had added a little more expo on the elevator to smooth things out and reduced the travel on the ailerons down to 85%.
Flaps are now a little less on full flap and 3% down elevator needed at full flap.
Roger Melville did a good job with my camera to get some flying shots posted here. Trevor will try and up load the video later.
