Does anyone know what the rule of thumb is on how long a servo extention can be without an amplifier? I have a byron f16 and the servos in the tail are going to be a long from the reciever up front.any tips before I wire??

My f15 had over a metre long extentions for the tailerons and my starjet elevators and rudder has three extentions over a metre each all with no problems. Heavy gauge wire with gold connections are recomended by those who know there stuff.

The plane below has no buffers / amps or anything
it has ~11 servos and some of the wires are over 6 foot.
I used 22 gauge 3 cond shielded and never had as much
as a bump with good power from the elev servos.
Its my option you don't need all the extra stuff.

Where can I buy connectors to make my own extensions?
I use JR equipment and would like to just use one extension no matter what the length.
Piecing together all these little extensions isn't a good idea.

Anyone know what kind of connectors JR uses?
Are they like Berg-stik or Amp connectors?
There's lots of different ones, if I knew the name it would probably be easy to locate some locally.

You can also try a company called AMP. They make every connector you could think of. I use their MTE 3 line of connectors. They plug right in to a JR receiver and have a very positive lock. I make all my own servo extensions. These connectors have worked well for me for years.
The connector in the center of the picture, with the 3 wires is the type. work great!!!
My 2cents worth..
