RE: VELOX.. Build thread with Photo's..
I'm at 35% flaps now and am actually thinking about adding a little more. I have a little bit of crow in too, my only concern is that the crow will make it more susceptible to the cobra maneuver...

After my last cobra landing, I changed out the old Rx batteries for better ones, remeasured the Cg, and changed the flap settings. Since then I have aroud 125+ flights with no issues. It will still cobra up and away if you stall it and you just have to make sure you don't get the nose up on final. The airplane looks pretty flat all the way to the flare, such as it is.
I ended up with a 37 degree flap deflection measured on the bottom at the root. Equates to 2" of throw at the root and about 1 & 3/4" at the aileron. The elevator offset is 1/2" up for this amount of flaps. Then I have 1 & 1/8" additional up available with 40% expo. A well flown landing to a smooth touchdown usually results in full elevator a second or so before touchdown. I am able to carry 50% power to about halfway into the base turn and usually achieve idle somewhere just before or after rollout on final. In the wind, I can carry power well into the runway.
I can't do crow as I ran out of channels, but, at this point, I don't think I need it. Mine is P-70 powered.

Is anyone using the servo extensions that came in the "Package" deal from rcmodeljets? Are they good? Would you trust them with high-torque servos? I'm using 5955 on the elevator, 5985s on ails and flaps and hopefully the rudders (if they fit).

Rudder pocket and mount are sized for something like the 3301 and it's flat mount method - a mini only 1/2" thick. Standard size servo will stick out, even if you can increase the size of the mounts..

I believe those extensions from RC Jet Models are Chinese copies of JR extensions - same 22 AWG wire and JR type connectors...

What about the extensions? Did you buy the rcmodeljet package deal and if so are you using the extensions?

That is a lot of power, will the airframe hold up? Even the bobcat only takes a p120 max.

What I used:
Rudder = JR3301
Elev = 8611
Flaps = 8411
Ail = 9411
What I used:
Rudder = JR3301
Elev = 8611
Flaps = 8411
Ail = 9411
how did you fit 8411's on the rudder?

I did not buy the go fly package. Just the airframe. I had enough stuff in my shop to do the rest. Can't comment on the servo extensions.

Look again, I used DS3301's on the rudder. 8411's won't fit. The 3301's are a drop in fit.

I should NOT have to put plywood in the engine bay for a P-80 right? Like the directions say. The P80 straps will fit with out the plywood extension I would think. Its for smaller engines?
Thanks
Thanks

Great thanks! How many inches in do I need to slot for the horns? Does not say in the manual. Or as long as the push rods are from the servo horn to surface if where I am supposed to cut? (I did not get my hardware package or wing tube with my order) Wagner said he will fix that on Monday!
