RE: JWM 2007
I think it is up to the Cypriates to draw the participants back in. They will need to personally address the issues with Ireland or they are going to have a bad turn out. From what I have heard privately from my friends and my customers, the event was actually worse than what you read here (no real jet stuff on the other English language boards I have been on lately).

To be honest the event was badly organised and a total waste of time and money from a spectators point of view......... If you want to go to cyprus go to cyprus but dont go for the WJM

i have watched this thread and kept quiet up til now, i had an exellent time in Hungary at the WJM as did most. the comment above should not be taken seriously. when i saw how badly organised the Irish team were at Hungary and the standard of their presentation it was obvious what the event was going to turn in to, and i quite publicly stated this (as anyone at florida jets or top gun who spoke to me about the event will confirm)
i will be trying to qualify for Cyprus and try to better my 4th place in open as i am sure it will be as well run as Hungary was. oh and the beaches there are full of lovely topless women!!
i feel for the "yanks" as i know they put a lot of efort in and i hope some of our advise was helpfull (gyro, gyro gyro )

Not sure why you say my comment should not be taken seriously...... You seem to confirm what I said....... are you saying the event in Ireland was well organised !!!!?...... If you are I think you were either not there or you should not be taken seriously..... Perhaps you need a gyro to keep you on the straight and level

RE: JWM 2007
Seems like bog-standard English to me - he said the Irish event was pooly run but that the Hungarian event was well run and he expects that the Cypriot one will be as well run as Hungary. i.e the fact that one host country didn't run things well doesn't mean everyone else will make the same mistake.

I always look at the full part of the glass. I never attended any thing in my life that is all perfect. Looking at any thing around us, I see that only things that humans has nothing to do about are perfect, otherwise it always has differences. Imagine what a yellow painted house would look to people? I personally would have to look at the overall picture to decide!
I really think I had good time (there are always room for better), I had the chance to meet many great people who I think the advantage of meting them surpass all the negatives about the weather, internet connection..Etc.
I run my business online when I am traveling. The unavailability of internet connections were annoying, but with little thinking I realized how beautiful I can set myself free from being a slave to the technology. It really felt good.
The only thing that I think was wrong is not getting the results right. There was enough time to calculate, check, double-check
Mike H , Dave M, Tommy and all people I met, I am very glad to meet you and I would love to meet all of you again.
Regards,
Eid

You are absolutely correct. Most of us had a great time despite the weather and organisational problems. I am not about to line up to give the organisers a kicking. These guys worked very hard and probably gave up their vacation time for very little reward. I would like to thank them for their efforts especially the Northern Ireland team who assisted me with parts for repairs and the Netherlands team for their hard work in assisting the organisers. I came back with a suntanned face so the weather wasn't that bad!

Eid,
It was great to at last meet the man who my friend and sponsor, Ian McLarren had spoken about for so long. Many emails from Ian have been sent to us with pictures of your workshop and flying site and I have to say you have some nice toys Eid.
However here is a picture of your latest model being upstaged by an even better one in our friend Elouise. . . . . . . . . .
p.s. did the prince like the picture ? ? ? ? ? ? and does he have the same thing with the gliders ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

I have said all I am going to say, I had a good time. if I was asked would I repeat the experience the answer would be yes. And now I have a Mig 29 to build, single turbine offset to one side, now where have I seen that done before?
Best regards
John
