RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
So, the main tire mold never arrived so I had to take plan B and do a fiberglass mold using an aluminum plug. It has been a bit of a challenge making all of this happen in a deployed location but it all came together A very special thanks to Katie Callen (KC-135 Structural Maintenance) and her sheet metal and fiber glass skills that made the mold and tires possible.
I have one set of tires that will be installed on Dean Wichmanns aircraft, I will be returning home in about a month and will be able to start making tires for all of those that still want them, I do not have enough time to get more rubber compound where I am but will be ready to start shipping around the first week of May for those still interested. I will try to post pictures tonight after work.

Graham, I have not got the laser operational, I still have to order the tube, I am hoping that I will have it up and running by the end of May.

RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
After long time stop today i put again in the air the F-84G now not in airport but in our airfield club
with Kingtech k170 with PROJET HORNET ECU the model take off in only 75mt on tarmac
the flight is smooth and realistic and need only 1/3 engine position stick..
with full flap the landing is very slow and smooth also... the model stop in 90mt without apply wheel brakes
The fuel consumption is only 2 litre after 5 minutes of flight including landing taxi on the box
soon i hope to post a short video take from a friend
soon i will add some light
ciao

RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
Congrats on your great build and flight. Perfect landing!
I am myself building a PST F84, covering her with flite metal
Now. I noticed you used 36lb engine at 1/3 power.
I am going to put in a Ram 1000 with 28 lbs of power.
Do you think it will fly ok with it?
Paul

RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
I use kingtech 170 because i have a short runway tarmac / grass
with full power the thunderjet take off in only 75mt
but immediatly after take off i reduce the power to 60%...
all flight is done with engine stick to 0% to max 50% ..and in some occasion
i must to reduce to idle in advance because the speed not decrease...
looping or 1/2 cuban eight eigth 65 max 70% trottle stick
consumption 2 litre for 5-6 min. flight
i think that with 14 kg trust is ok ... maybe take off longer than my f-84g
please check AOA on the ground ..(must be positive)
sorry for my bad english

RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
Hello
I read this thread since the beginning and this has brought me to the decision to build also a F84G from PST. The model has also now completed its first flight successfully - now I want to paint it.
maybe someone can help me in this forum - I'm looking for three side views of coloring (preferably by the USAF) .The version I like best is from from chris (strato tanker - great loocking plane ) I'm also looking for datas of the maintenance labels . I also want to use the model for competition and for this I need a scaledocumentation.
Thanks a lot
Regards from Austria
Michael

Michael
Thanks for the comments. The scheme that I did has very little documentation, I think I only found three pictures of it, I had Promark do the SAC patch on the side, he also has a transfer pack containing a lot of the generic markings. I added a bunch more by means of laser cut paint masks that I did. The aircraft I did was for scale competition as well so most of the paint masks I did were pulled from pictures that the owner will use in the documentation package. I also did the Blue Arrow paint job seen in the thread and have done a set of Thunderbirds masks and templates. Let me know if I can be of anymore help. I will try to get the names of the reference books that I used to build the plane from the owner. Regards
