RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
Men, I know what you mean by "frustrating".
Stop wasting your time with the retracts.
The 155 $ spent in the 635 units will be worth the hassle saved.
Then you'll start to enjoy the retracts and operating the plane...

Hi Roy,
It's called BARKS and is located off of the Blacks Creek exit, south east of Gowen and the airport. The runway is a little shorter than Parma, but on the other hand it's flat unlike Parma.

Looks like a nice place and I agree about the flat. The Big Boomer almost went off the end of the South end because I was landing down hill.
Here are some more photos of your F-84F I took at the Idaho Jet meet. It is one nice looking jet.

RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
I have started installing the Robart 635s on the mains and found it to be relatively painless, once one retract was in, I decided to move on to the bombs and pylons. I had a lot of ideas floating around in my head and wanted to start making something before I lost it! Here is the start of the pylons, A little time measuring and lofting a rib in Compufoil and this is what I ended up with. I just have a couple more parts to design and cut, then I can make the plugs for the bombs get them molded up!

Thanks Jerc! Too bad you are still not here, need LOTS of sanding!!!!
So, here is the start of the bomb plug, I scaled it from the Tamiay kit that we purchased, was the closest thing that I could find for F-84 ordinance. Quite aways to go on it until I get to pull one from the mold but I think it will be worth the effort. Once the mold is complete, I will design and cut the fin assemblies, not looking forward to that one!

See, I never would have thought of using the drill press for that! Of course, if I was the sanding b!tch, you wouldn't have told me about it! Give me a call sometime, I want to ask you about some plane stuff. Later.

I missed a bunch of pics, but here is one of the plug in its first coat of primer. Gotta go get the girls some ice cream!

The plug and parting board together. Had to borrow the kids Play Doh to make the seal around the bomb. Everything is waxed and has three layers of PVA. Time to lay the resin and fiberglass!
