Elevons Vs Alerons on F-16's

Had a problem with My Skymaster alerons and I am now thinking that I should just glue them and use Alevons only. What is the best setup?

I am using elevons & the ailerons as flaps at only 1/4 inch of travel.
This is on a Jet Legend F16 weighing less than 14lbs & powered by a Wren MW44 with Wren tailpipe.
It flys very well & lands at walking pace.

I've flown both setups on many different F-16's and I've never found any cons to using either setup, the elevons do have one advantage that is worth mentioning and that is at low speed high AOA they provide much more aileron authority. personally out of the many different ones I've flown none have ever needed flaps and if you're removing the ailerons I'd just glue them, when you pull power back and stand the nose up you get all the braking action you want and it's Almost impossible to stall one flaps just aren't worth the weight of the servos IMO.

Has anyone tried spinning (Flat spinning) without ailerons? Is this possible? You normally require Rudder, Elevator and some opposite aileron to keep the wings flat.
Can you do this on elevons?

There is another advantage using elevons. Gusty crossing condition it handle better than ailerons.
Since the wing are fix washout. It kept the plane stable all time.
Superman 2006 we prove it all day long. It was so windy and everyone just sit around.
Dave Presta took the F-16 demo how it do in cross wind. It suprise a lot pilots how will elevons F-16 can do.

I have an skymaster f-16 and yeallow f-16 both have elevons only and fly great. Simpler setup, lightweight, less servos and like small cat for landing.

I tried to set up my TJ F-16 with them but with the Futaba 14MZ setup, you don't have any aileron trim to the Ailevators. Futaba assumes that there are ailerons as well, so the aileron trim is for ailerons only, and elevator trim affects the Ailevators. I'm sure theres a way around it, but I passed.

Do you fly jets there in Colombia. I have been to Cali many times. Would be great to visit Barranquilla and see some jet action.

Hi David:
Yes, a friend of mine is flying jets in Barranquilla since 2003. He has 3 Bobcats, 1 Kingcat, 1 Rafale, 1 Ultra Bandit, 1 Boomerang, etc. I have flown the Boomerang many times. Now, I decided to get a Skymaster F-16 1:8 and it is almost ready for its maiden flight.
My son started to study in Cali and is in contact to belong to Los Halcones Club with Javier Ospina.
Let me know when you are coming to Colombia.
