Well, this Turbo is finally ready for the maiden, may happen today or Sunday, all looks good, there is only one thing that has me thinking but it won't stop the maiden.
It only took me 11 years and 5 months to build but it's finally build, it still needs some cosmetic things to be done to it, that will be done in the weeks to come.
I added 14 oz of lead in the nose, CG is about 1/2 inch back from the 7" mark, I forgot to place the 5K LIPO batt in the nose, adding the batt in the nose should move the CG to the 7" mark or very close to it.

Ok, good thing that I didn't maiden today, the thing that kept me thinking has been resolved, the nose retract kept getting stuck some times in the up position, after talking to a friend and getting some ideas today I found the problem and it got fixed for good by adding two very thing spacers to the retract, the picture explains it better, also I had forgotten to set the throttle fail safe, I prefer to do that at home than at the field and I CG it again but, this time the ECU battery was added and as suspected that was enough to move the CG forward to the 7" mark, I also added a second small air tank to the brakes for more volume and weighted again for a final dry weight of 22,5 lbs.

From the flying field, the maiden flight is done and it was a total success, with a twist on the landing, performance was off the hook, more later, I got to get dinner then home.

The landing with a twist, the twist happened on short final, the right wing tip stall then a recovery to a landing, don't ask me how I manage to land it in one piece, hard to see, look between the trees and the power tower.

At the field I had to get the nose gear out of the plane to do a small fix, the brass pin couldn't get over the hump to rotate the gear down, I remember from 15 years ago Tam fixing this retracts by filing the tip of the hump, so I did and that fixed that problem then all the proper checks were done ( taxi, fail safe radio ) when I started the engine for the maiden flight I noticed fuel around the fuel filter, we tighten the Jetcat filter and tried again, this time more fuel came out of it, I swapped the Jetcat filter for a Kingtech filter and the jet was ready to fly, you can see the TO on the vid, the plan for the flight was simple, TO and do a few circles while checking stuff then land, for level flight it needed, about 4 clicks of right aileron and that was it, no elevator trim needed at all, I was impressed, with the throttle at 60% and heading into the wind I pushed the throttle to 100% and watched, the jet flew straight, no climbing or descending, perfect!
I flew the Turbinator with the recommended throws and they work just fine for my type of flying, high rate on the Elevators with 35% expo and low rate on the Ailerons with 25% expo, performed some split S, with gear down and first notch of flaps there was no trim change, with full flaps I had 3/32 of elevators down, it only needed two more clicks of down Elevator with full flaps deployed.
You can see the landing on the vid, next time I fly it I will keep up the speed all the way down to the runway.

Day after the maiden, I'm still going through the maiden flight in my head of all the things that happened at the field before the maiden, specially the fuel leak at the last minute.
I have to say, thank you to my club friends that help me while I was there getting the Turbo ready.
I can tell you now, I'm excited about this jet, the performances I saw during the flight were better than expected, with that in mind I wouldn't have a second thought to build a second one, I got so comfortable with it right away.

No more flights this week, the temperatures in area are going to be way over 100°, this will be the perfect time to go aver the jet to adjust the things that needs to be adjusted and to stretch some of the monokote, I should be hearing from Callie Graphics soon, I placed my graphics for the Turbo about a month ago also time to paint the frame on the canopy and build a cockpit for may pilot, the Turbo pilot is the same pilot that flew my first ducted fan jet over 16 years ago, a JHH mirage build by my late friend John H.
Thank you to all that have followed this thread from the very beginning or from two months ago, it has been an interesting build up to the maiden flight, I will do some updates now and then.
AND, it's time to prepare for the next build, an 85% Reaction for my P60, never stop building and flying

Watching your take off, it doest look a heavy jet at all, it lift up very easy, and not running too long before take off. So prediction weight of 22lbs and final weight of 28lbs, is not a problem at all,
Good idea, don't rush to fly, check everything, including all your linkage, Hinges, etc, then go for fun,
