Ok, after taking a week off from the build I'm back on it, 5 days off this week starting tomorrow and next week, lots of things to do on this thing and a jet meet to attend on Sat, let's get to it.
Home early so I can glue the Ailerons which are glued now in prep to covering and gluing the flaps.

First time hinging flaps this way, curious to see how the swing comes out, using Hysol epoxy, best for this application, it doesn't run just like Six10 thickened epoxy.
One more part to cover and I'm done with the covering but not with the details of the covering scheme.

Getting to the end of the build here, gluing the wing horns with Hysol, they are of the reinforced plastic, I have used them many times and had this set for about 10 years or more, time to put them to work
I maybe able to make the pushroad tonight if the glued is hard enough. 3520

The pushroads are done, all looks good with them, the wing feels heavy now, I will get the dry weight here soon, had to go with a Y on the elevators and also had to program one of them to match the other, I was not really getting the instructions on how to set the center and ends so, I called Hitec and the guys there were super nice and guided me through the steps.
Now that it is build I have to check everything to make sure it is working as it should, including the engine and that there are no leaks of any kind then I will adjust the CG, once that is done, it's maiden time, possibly this week.

Last night I had a dance with the Turbo to find out the dry weight, it end up been 21 lbs but I still have to add about a pound of lead to the nose to get it to balance at 7" so, I'm going to leave it at 22 lbs for a dry weight, calculating fuel and smoke weight adds 6.5 lbs, total of 28.5 lbs on TO, thrust weight dry ratio of about .9:1, I think? Anyways, that should be plentiful thrust to have very energetic fun flights.

2008 is just around the corner and I got my first project lined up for the new year, yeap!! I decided to build a Turbinator from Nick Ziroli plans, I wanted to build a new airplane ( not a jet ) but the Turbinator simply just, jumped infront of me in the thinking room out of my last AMA magazine ( best place to read that magazine ) so, I said why not no one has one around here and it has been ions since I build and airplane ( relly build one ) I assembled like 15 jets just this year alone, so far I only have a TJ F-16 in my shop ( garage ) ready to fly and a King Cat that is been repaired for my friend Jose' from Stockton.
This year I want to try the small turbines, so I been looking at a Wren and the Jet Cat P-60SE and P-70 for this project. The jet is going to weight between 20 to 22 lbs but it has like 1,200 squere inches of wing area, it will defenitelly be light wing loaded for its weight and size ( fuse is 82" long).
Here are some pictures of the prints, the construction maual is only 4 pages !! WOW, simplicity is the word here. Thank you Nick sr. it will be fun to build and for sure I will be posting updates of the progress on the construction sequence .
For some reason it remainde me of the T-28 Trojan..
