Malcolm,

How much flap are you using for take off?

DAVID, the flaps are set at two positions on a three pos switch, the first movement puts the plane on to tailerons and flaps the second position gives me 35 degrees of flap for take off and approach the third pos gives me 40 degrees flap for landing ,, after takeoff I switch through to the top position and I programmed the flaps to come up at minium speed so that the transition from full flap to zero is smooth................. as to the balancing of stabs it is a personal choice, as you know I used to sell Aviation Design jets and ||Eric recommended balancing the stabs on his designs so I just carried on that way.. some like it some don't, there are always two schools of thought..... it works for me after sixty flights I haven't had a problem with the tail feathers at all...MK

Goose... yes when the flaps go down the elevator gives up but not much only about 4- 5 degrees,,, just a little elevator to counteract the drag from the flaps .. but the plane dosn't nose down without the bit of elevator input ...MK

Mike (GJC):

I'm almost done building my F-16 only to find out I have a leak on the nose gear lock cylinder, Is this something that can be replaced? I don't want to buy a complete nose gear just because of a small air cylinder.

Please let me know if this part is available separate, and if it's something you have on stock, see you at FLJETS

That replacement piece is close to 80 bucks I think, I would try to fix it. The cylinder should come apart and you can lube it up with some o ring lube from BVM. This would make it hold air again. Dont shrug your shoulder to it. The front gear could collapse and cause some nice road rash on that nose. Best of luck....

You have to replace the entire support beam because they come assembled. See if you can fix it as suggested by Michael. If not, let me know, I can get you the parts. Just send your request to Cindy at [email protected]

See you at Florida Jet.

Guys:

Has anyone installed a JC Rhino with the full bypass on the 16? I initially was gonna go with a Super Eagle, everything fit properly, but decided to have the extra reserve power of a Rhino, I'm checking and since the Rhino has a longer outside exhaust cone I can no longer achieve the cone to pipe required distance.

Can I reduce the distance or actually insert the exhaust cone all the way to the pipe on a full bypass? I can perfectly understand the concept of cone to pipe distance on an open installation because the of the need of the exhaust to be able to catch standing air via venturi effect, but on a bypassed installation, all air is captive so the venturi effect would work ok since air cannot be pulled from anywhere else, can someone validate for me?

Im am finalising the set up on my Jetlegend F16.

Could someone please confirm the neutral position of elevator.

The location as shown on plan is leading edge at 30mm down from top of side edge & 22mm up from bottom of side edge (picture shown)

Many Thanks

That is neutral, however the 16 will fly with the elevators in a slight up position. With the cg done right, the rear part of the elevator should be a bit higher than the speed brakes on the very back of the jet.

do 200, from leading edge and fuse. have the nose just slowly drop when you lift it up.

okay i will reposition at 200mm, which with the heavy amt pegasus i have on board will be no problem to balance, as is i have had to put almost all equipment in nose ie batterries, pump, ECU & power box this was to avoid needing lead.

would it be possible please to get a measurement for flight level on tailplane?

Many Thanks

The JL F 16 flys with the elevator 4 MM above the fuse line at the trailing edge of the elevators with the CG at 200mm I have a JC 200 SX in mine which is about the same weight as the AMT Pegasus and its straight and level solid as a rock at that setting.....MK

Hi Malcolm,

What servo do you use for rudder? Do you do the factory default setup?

Can anyone tell me if there are any differences in throws and CG beteween the early and late versions of the fuselage? I have one of the early versions where the lower part of the front fuse(intake) is not a separate part. Does anyone still have one of the early versions?
