I have made the tough decision to sell this jet in order to fund my new FeiBao F-4J project. I will need a new P-160SX for it so freeing up space and capitol will be a bonus. I hate to see it go but with so many nice jets on the market you just can't have them all.

The weather was great yesterday.....mid 60's but the wind was in the 25mph range. I would have liked to get more flights in before the year is up but I don't think that will happen. Not much response to my Ad for this jet. That's ok, I am selling at a loss so it is just as well that I keep it if that is how things work out. It is such a great flying airplane. My friends think I'm crazy for selling it. I will still buy the new P-160SX for my F-4J either way, but now I need to "pony Up" the green backs

Mj.Woody, Hi! This is Hector, you can see my upside down landing in the Jetleged forun. The is a nice
1/8 thick plastic tape approx. 4-6 inches thick I buy at PepShop that's used for racin cars.
Works very nice in wing tips, front and rear. I place 2 or 3 pieces and as it goes I remove the scratched
one. I hope this serves. By the way I was the one who invited you to Puerto Rico.

Hi Hector.
Thanks for the tip. I was not sure who the invite was for. Now I know it's me.
Thank you so much. If I ever make it own that way I will get in touch with you for some great jet flying. Maybe I can get Wagner to come as well.

Hi Guys
I was at the Jets over Henley weekend in South Africa this weekend. We were treated to a demonstration by one of the full size L-39's based at Rand airport just outside Johannesburg. It was a very impressive display with some really low flypasts etc. I have attached some photos from the display for your viewing pleasure.

My new, larger pipe for this jet is on its way. Wagner is sending it out Monday.
The jet has flown fantasic for 67 flights now but I have always felt the supplied pipe was a bit too small. This jet was clocked at 189 mph straight and level (not from a dive) with no wind as indicated by the on board GPS with the stock pipe so I can expect better performance still with the larger pipe. I'm guessing top speed will stay about the same but am looking for improved vertical performance and cooler temps in the fuse. I'll cover the conversion when the pipe arrives.

Great News...........for me anyway.
I have removed the L-39 from sale. I have decided to keep this great flying jet. I have more room in my basement than I originally thought and I have acquired all the components for my F-4J so I have no real reason to part with it
Yeah Baby!!

I have just installed my new Pipe from FeiBao. This pipe is larger than the original stock pipe and tapers from 3" to 2 3/4". The original stock pipe was 3" tapering down to 2 5/16". I believe that this pipe will keep things cooler inside the fuse. I hope I don’t loose any of that 189 MPH top speed as a result of less dynamic thrust. If I do then in theory I will gain some static thrust which could help in the vertical.
I checked my C.G. again, and it balances dead level on the center of the wing tube which is the recommended location. I have 67 flights on this jet at this setting, but and going to try a few flights with the C.G. 1/4" and 1/2" forward of the original balance point. The jet has a tendency to balloon during round-out on landing and this might be a sign of tail heaviness. Never a problem in flight as this jet just rocks in the air but can be demanding if you get into a ballooning scenario just prior to flaring for landing. I'll keep you posted on my C.G. experiments.

Well I did not get a chance to fly this weekend in spite of the 50 degree weather.....great for this time of year. I was too busy getting the shop, trailer and planes converted from winter building setup to summer flying setup. The weather will be anyone’s guess. If I get a good day, I will go log a few flights. I am really anxious to test the new pipe and C.G. I think the more forward C.G. will tame the landing approach and make this one sweet ride across the whole spectrum of flight. She flies just so damn good and is such a great aerobatic / hot dog jet when opened up. Slow flight with 1/2 flap is the most stable rock solid feeling of any jet I have ever flown!!
Stay tuned for details.........
