Are you going to Florida Jets? Will you be bringing your upgraded L-39?
Or any other plane in your fleet?

Dom can't make FL Jets; so I volunteered to take it for him....do the words "You'll have to pry it out of my cold dead hands" sound familiar

I think I would have a better chance asking Dom for one of his Kidneys

I can't fund Florida jets this year since I am currently funding my Phantom build. Lot of shows on the docket for the summer however.
KY Jets being the premier.
Perhaps next year.

I just assembled the jet and cycled the landing gear to verify the new gear door hinges are working properly. They function perfectly!! Here are some shots of the jet on its gear. The camera flash and basement lighting are really distorting the true color and finish on the jet. You must see it in person to really see how incredible it looks (IMHO of course). I can't wait to hit the Jet Rally circuit this year with this "New Jet".

Around 22 pounds....but there is fuel in the main tank so I was not going to post the weight till I emptied that. I need to compare apples to apples.

Well I actually have the L-39 covered up now and my benches clear for the Phantom. So this thread will go cold again for awhile. I did meet some of the PA guys for dinner tonight and brought one of my wings with me to show them. I wish I could have brought the whole jet but I think they get the idea of how the jet turned out.
Can't wait to fly it!!

What servos did Dom use on his L-39? The thread lists only the JR 3421 used on the rudder.

Hi Ahmed.
I decided to use automotive paint on the L-39. I used PPG Valu Pro paint system. The decals were made on the computer....Riche Miller made the graphics and I made the Nomenclature. I printed them on laser water transfer paper. The L-39 looks just awesome and I can't wait to take her to all the jet rallys this season. Go for the repaint.....it is like getting a new model!!

Hi Dom

THank you for your reply , i do have 27 flights so it is kind of new still BUT i will make it one day .

well to get a water base paint here in Egypt is kind of hard or maybe there isnt , that is why i asked what kind you used FOR the black lines on the reiviets and panel lines which i like very much and really think of doing it maybe today or tomorrow .

i notice you put another tank with the standered one i did the same and add like 500 cc BUT the main gears get down a little which is mean the total waight is heavy on the main springs BUT i fly many times NO problem at all anyway i ordered another set of springes , did you notice anything like this or it is just a luck my springs were already bad and they jsut came in NOW

the decales and Nomenclature , how did you make the Nomenclature , i mean what was your refrence to write it from , and is it avilable i mean can you send me this file.

THanks
Ahmed

Hi Ahmed.
Your L-39 is looking good!! I like the weathering....it adds some character. I did not have any issue with my springs. Still going strong after 130 flights or so!!

The nomenclature on my L-39 is not scale. I made these decals for my FeiBao F-4J...they are correct (scale) for that jet. I used them on the L-39 since it is just a fly for fun jet and I really don't care if they are accurate. They look great and I am very satisfied with them.

I am looking forward to flying this jet with its new colors. I should be able to get out to the airport in the next couple weeks!!
