Looking for long nose strut

Hi,
This may not be the right forum for this question but here it goes. I have been trying to find 10" long strut for my S Connie project without any luck, i though you jet guys maybe able to help me out as some jets have taller nose struts then normal height.
Like A-4, F-4, Cutlass, Fury/Saber etc....
Any help will be appreciated, but please don't link me to the site where it will be $200 bucks, good condition used one will be fine too!!......
Thanks,
Sammy

your post is just a tiny bit unclear...if taken literally, you already have the retract and just need a strut? Is it a 1/2 " trunion?
That's an fairly long strut, even for the jet community. contact this outfit [link]http://www.sierragiant.com/[/link] and see what he can do for you. He does top-notch work. I hope I'm wrong but that seems like a custom request to me and might be expensive, but there's no telling until you ask, right?
Hope I helped, Don.

Make a drawing of what you want and email it to and I'll see what I can do. If it's hand written, email me for a fax number.

I currently don't have the retracts as of yet but for nose i'm looking to get Trimjet nose retract from a friend who doesn't need nose retract for his project.
Main strut tube will be 1/2" thick that will also mount into the retract on the top end, since mount will take 1/2" of the strut to be clamped on to rest will be the length i will need. This will be 9.5" from axle to the retract, telescopic suspension part will be 2" without load and 1" with load. Scissors/forks will be to the front of the aircraft. As for axle once mounted on to the strut both outer sides will be bent on 12 degree down position as in canted position.
I don't want to manufacturers for custom strut as it will be very expansive, like i said earlier, i prefer to get either used one or two or from not too expansive source.
Sean let me know if you get the picture, if not i will try to explain it again.

Few things to note here....
First....Your not going to find someone with a "Production" strut at 10" length; this is just not something that is made for the general market, far too long...
Second... I am not sure what the size and weight of the aircraft is your building but, at 10" long you may want to consider increasing the diameter. 10" at 1/2" diameter (assuming it is a standard tube type oleo strut) will not take much abuse! 10" creates a substantial leverage arm! Suggest at minimum 9/16 diam (can still be made to fit 1/2" trunion)
Third.... You really need to note the weight of the aircraft so that spring loads can be determined for the strut.
Fourth.... What size wheels are you using and, what is the axle diameter of the wheels?

As for weight, i'm assuming between 24-30 Lbs dry, i understand its long strut but if trunion can be made at 1/2" then thickness of the strut body could be 9/16" as you suggested or even 5/8" for that matter. I would like to get this made from mild steel tube from aircraft grade to take the abuse.
Wheels will be 2-1/4" Dubro types or something similar.

But good Luck!

It doesn't have to be made custom as i intend to buy a new or used ones. If you have one or know where to find them then let me know otherwise don't worry about it as i will eventually find them. Plus don't need to worry about payment, i will send payment before you will send it to me.

Right now I'm working on making a drop in replacement for Robart 630 and 635 retracts. I've spent basically two full days on it. The retracts I'm building are substantially robust.
I don't know if I would be willing to sell a set, send me an email to and what you would be willing to pay.
If the sizes need to be customized, either send me one to get measurements or draw it up.
Gordon, got your PM, when you are ready, just send me what you have and I'll see what I can do.
