RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Hi,
For the life of me, why would think I'm being a smart you know what? I have tried to teach everyone in our law firm never, never assume anything because we all know when you break down the word assume what it means. I'm new to Turbines, not jets. and it just so happens I just got my P-80 a few days ago and was only looking for some advise from the experienced guys. I was under the impression that's what this thread was all about. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Are these 3/8 spacers supplied with the engine or are they an accessory? and, why do they use a below centre mount, why not on the CL?

For the most part you will get friendly, helpful advice here, lots of good experience on these threads especially boomerang jets related issues. Don't be shy about asking. I would raise the P80 using a 3/8" ply shim on the existing mounts.
PS Maybe it wasn't a good idea to tell us that you are a lawyer!
Best regards
John

Hi,
Thanks for the advise. If the truth be told, I'm in a partnership in a collection law firm. I'm a Paralegal and I run the collection side so I'm use to dealing with much adversity. Thanks for the advise and help.

Hi there
The Self-adhesive rings on my grey USAF Sprint are white, while I would prefer them as transparent. Where there by any change a transparent sheet in the box, which I should be searching for in my workshop?
Do you mount your decals with soap water, or are they the kind that turns milky-white when using even a weak solution of soap water?
Thanks in advance

I tried but I couldn't get the factory to include silver rings for trimming the holes. I went to the local autoparts place & bought a cheap aerosol of silver paint and used it inside the intake fronts and on the little rings, (before fitting, of course).
Easy solution. [8D]

Thanks both
A clear transparant ring should fit all the Sprint's and Elan colors. Just a thought.
@Mike: Nice cockpit [8D]

Last decals I mounted did'nt like soap-water

Nice install.
What kind of fire proofing paint is that ?
I have been looking for some and have not had any luck yet.
Is that fire retardant covering on the turbine mounts ?
I am not trying to be picky but are not the satelite receiver antennas to be 90 degrees to each other for best reception ?

yes i have to move the back antenna to put it on the side, i use top-flite paint to fuel prof the interior and dock tape to securise the turbine portion ,just in case it get too hot. also to mask the join of the air intake and the wing i put a rubber cannopy trim, it fit perfectly.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Hi Guys,
Just about to purchase a Sprint, but would like clarification on colour schemes. If possible, could someone post 'real life' photos of the individual schemes available? I've seen the stock scheme layout posted a few pages back but was after a little more to help me decide. Just hoped someone might have a load of sprint images saved and easily accessible.
Many thanks.
Dave
(ps. also, does anyone know current prices for prolynx retracts set for the sprint from als, as they're not listed. I asked about the intro's and they were £400 for retracts, oleos and brakes.)

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Guys, thanks for the feedback. I'm pretty much sold on the military scheme I think, unless anyone thinks they can outdo it with a good photo of one in an acro scheme.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Anyone know any tricks assembling the tailplane to the booms?
I have to completely disassemble to get it in my car and after first assembly noticed I had managed to pinch the elevator extn lead, I trapped it between the boom and tail plate somehow.
I know Alan says fill the plate on the boom so as not to lose the extn socket but gravity lets the lead joint fall back out of the hole in the tail.
Am I being stupid or is there a knack to it?
Gary.

Many thanks in anticipation
