RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
Anyone using the Dreamworks trailing link retract setup and if so did you install the electronic brake and retract valves. Can you advise if you had any issues re set up of the valves and what channel did you put the brake valve on. I am using JR 9303. Any help with the set up on the radio would be appreciated. Are your brakes on the side slider or down elevator etc. Do you have a mix that the valve only operates with gear down.
Also anyone using crow set up with full flap and if so how did you do the mix on the 9303.
My P80SE is in transit being delivered next week by the big brown truck. Yippeeeeee
Cal.

RE: Boomerang Sprint Build Thread!
I am using Digitech struts which are similar to the Dreamworks with electronic valves, the only problem on set up is making sure the valve is reset before trying to programme them, on the Flight Tech ones you do this by holding down both buttons and then powering up, channel is irrelevant, because it all accords how your Tx works and what channel you assign to which switch or slider, my brakes are on a side slider, brakes and steering are dissabled when the wheels are retracted.
For crow: I have the flaps and crow on the other side slider and only have the ailerons reflexed when the flaps pass half way down i.e. 45 degs, ailerons reflex about 0.75" and down elevator mixed in at about 0.25" on full flap, proportionally applied as flaps are deflected.
Sold all my JR too unreliable for me, so unable to advise on the 9303, hope you find the above usefull, but there is a mine of information on this site if you care to brouse it.

I also am using Dreamworks Trailing Link Gear with the stock retract and brakes valves though. I have considered changing to the electronic valves but, it is not broke so why fix it.
Brakes are on the right slider and the flaps are on the left slider. I have a mix for gear/steering. In that when gear is up steering does not work.( I might do another mix gear/brake also)
I have not set up spoilerons yet as I have just upgraded radios and I now have more channels on my 14mz to program in.
Good Luck

Dambo
On the 14mz use the "Airbrake" function in the standard menu to set up crow, give you all the offsets, servo slow if you wish and elevator compensation all on the one standard function without using a P mix programme.

I thought about glassing it, but its too much trouble, I did think of using what we in the UK call ProSkin I think in the US its called peel ply, its a fibre glass sheet material, but then again it does not go around corners very well, so I just stayed with the plastic heat shrink.

At the momement I can't even get out of my drive let alone get to the flying field, still gives me time to work on the Sprint.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all of our buddies on RCU.

I have just sprayed a red trim on the front of the intakes, the left one looks fab, the right one I made a complete cods of and will have to do it again, the problem is spraying white over the inevitable red that will not come off is going to turn it pink, may have to go back to the begining and rub it all down and start again.

Hello
I just installed the new DuBro 80 oz tank in my Sprint, and it was a perfect drop-in fit. Price is right: $30 and change shipped from Tower Hobbies.

Hi guys,
I bought the Dreamworks gear combo for the Sprint but I have a question regarding the brake / strut fit - the brake drum fits through the axle then machined to fit around the strut to hold it from rotating. My question is the brake drum loosely fits around the strut (about 3/32 clearance on each side) so it allows the brake drum to rotate +/-15 degrees - this much rotation allows the air line nipple to also rotate and interfere with the strut. Does this correct or do I have a mis-matched part? The brake drum does fit inside the wheel hub correctly....I'm just concerned with this much movement that the nipple could break against the strut, or something worse...
Thanks!

Also I cannot get the wheel/brake on the strut because the wheel/drum has a smaller diameter of than that of axel of the strut.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm disappointed that the parts don't fit togeather for such an expensive set of gear.

OK... so I think I'm smart enough to figure out how to post a picture...
So Here goes!. I'll try with a picture of my Boomerang Baby that has gone to the great hangar in the sky! (I violated the 3 rules of jets... Too low, Too slow and un-spooled!)
I re-covered it to look like a Royal Navy De Havilland Sea Vixen of No. 899 Squadron.

Oops need to read the post again.

That's obviously why it went to the great hanger in the sky, it did not have a pilot, how do you expect to pull out if no one is on the stick.
