Ken, your change of heart IS INSULTING......... My .02. You should realize that simply discussing the topic does not violate any RCU Rules. Show me where I am wrong.
I do apologize for my mis-speaking. As I said earlier, I was not aware of the history of this issue when I typed that. When I had a chance to research it and see what had gone on I corrected myself. I respect that decision that has been made by the moderators for this forum on this issue, and this is why I changed what I had previously typed. I will be the first to admit that I am only human and I did make a mistake in what I typed. After I was aware of what went on I corrected my mistake and I apologized for that mistake. But that decision of the Forum Moderators is going to stand and the subject should not be discussed.

If what you say is true, you should be able to show the threads where it has been discussed ad nauseaum as you indicate. Please share....... As I don't recall any of the older threads that this was discussed, and I don't think guys that are purchasing this airplane know about the earlier threads.

Also, you have not shown how repeating past information is bad for RCU, because if it is, I'm going to start telling everyone with a question to use the search forum, it will not take long for newbies to feel unwelcome.

Seanreit,
I am not going to go down this road here in this forum. It's taking this thread off topic. I am answering you here in the thread to show you respect you deserve as an RCU member and at least answer you here. But I'm not going to discuss this issue here in the open in this thread. I said that I did make a mistake in what I said, and I apologize for that mistake. I am sorry if it upset you that I did make a mistake, but it's there. It was a mistake and it's not going to change what the other Moderators have already decided. Once again, I am sorry.

Now let's please let this thread get back on topic. Thank you.

Ken

No, one of the things I didn't like with the kit is there is no manual included at all.
I downloaded and printed out the manual off of the TBM web site.

It worked ok, but it would be nice if they'd include one!

would you recommend a bigger turbine? the manual online states up to 18 pound thrust and I have two p-70's. does it fly ok at say 1/2 throttle? or are you wide open most of the time.

also, what sort of throws are you using? thanks Kevin

we went with the throws of the manual...

most filght wide open..the only concern is on a 70 fuel burn time..but then again you wont be full throttle all the time... but i think the extra power would be welcome...

keep us advised....

i just did some homework and the delta of 1 ounce a minute on the 70 is minimal..

i would love to hear a report of someone that flew this with that power level?

Me to!
I have a P70 that I am going to install into this bird once I flew it a few times.
Honestly, the only reason I went with the P60 is because I had it on hand and it required a minimal of modifications to get flying and having fun.
I had a Reaction 54 with the P70 in it and that was clocked at 183 mph! I don't think this will be anywhere near as fast as that, but should be way better than the 140 mph out of a dive with the P60 mine was clocked at last weekend!

How is the market to sell a p60 with 5 hours on it?

First flight today, P80 turned down 1000 RPM, with 75 oz. fuel and 24 oz. smoke. A little over 6 min. flying time with fuel. Great verticle. Solid flying airplane, still working with elevator to flap setting. 1/2 flaps about 30ft. roll off grass.

maybe I should just forego the p-60 and go with the p-70, at least I could make it flyable in a few days.
