Default Jetcat Filters -

Hello all,

Working on installing my Titan SE and had a question regarding the IN and OUT ends for the jet cat filters (aluminum with basket and O ring). The instrctions state the O ring side is the IN end of the filter, but there are some schematics that show the filter with that end downstream.

I just wanted to confirm this before I complete the plumbing.

Thanks
Dave

If you set it as the "O" ring end as the OUT the dirt if there is any finishes up on the outside of the filter screen, making it easier to clean.

The above condition can cause the filter screen to collapse on itself (as I was warned by a Jetcat rep)

The O-ring end should always be the IN side so fuel puts outward pressure on the filter basket.

Sort of contradictory to what the manual states ...don't you think? However, I do agree the inlet should be on the o-ring side.

Apparently you have an older manual/turbine. I checked all my Jetcat manuals from 2008 back to 2004 & all have the same filter info. Below are scans from my 2004 manual. I don't have my older manuals, so I can't pinpoint what year the text & diagram changed.

Correct, that particular manual is a bit dated.

I agree. But even with the newer version, later in the manual there are 1-2 schematics where the filter figure appears reversed compared to the fuel schematic above.
This current maual clearly shows the fuel filter with the O ring towards the pump. I have some older installations where it was not that clear and I think one may actually be reversed but has flown that way for 4 years!

Thanks for the clarification.

Dave
