If you received PM's telling you where the kits are manufactured, why are you not satisfied with the answers you got?

Everything from cheap-shots from Reps to guilt-trips about perpetuating slavery, all right here on RCU!

Now, this isn't directed at you personally, Doug, but what kind of nonsense is it to think that the person who would be buying a product shouldn't ask (or have the right to know) where it's made--especially, if the 'Made in the U.S.A.' sticker is part of the explanation for the pricetag??
Furthermore, there is no "right to know". You made that up or have lived in CA too long. There is a right to spend your money elsewhere and Im sure thats what this customer would do if he "had" to know or was otherwise compelled to look to alternatives. Ever heard the word proprietary? Where would this right to know stop?

A-men Chris!!!
Sean,
Did you think that nobody could see right through your cheap veil with the question you asked??? A few of the guys here asked you why you posed your question (Knowing full well why you asked)---How can you expect the "truth" when you won't come clean yourself!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, prior BVM products were all proudly made in the USA. Now, it appears that BV has ventured overseas to add other products to his fine line of aircraft. Why does anyone care??? The profits from the new KingCat still goes to support the fine families that work at BVM!!! Due to the changing world around us, frankly, I'm surprised that BV hasn't done something like this sooner. It looks as though BV has taken one more step to ensure that BVM stays around for a while longer.....
I've sold two KingCats for BV. I suggested this plane to two older gentlemen who are tired of trying to keep up with smaller planes. One has already placed his order, the other decided today to get his. Looks like the KingCat is a winner...I'm looking forward to my time on the sticks of these two new birds!!!

No one is saying otherwise. There is nothing wrong with BV teaming up with Adreas to build the KingCat, although I hope he had a long talk with Don Kanak first. But why the secrecy?
Here is the link to the US Customs information that someone accused me of making up:

When you buy a KingCat, you will not be paying for the usual BVM quality. I own a Eurosport and I don't think some of you guys are going to be happy with the quality of the workmanship. Since they'll probably be shipped to BVM first, he'll have some control over the final product that he ships out. The fact that BVM designed the KingCat will be an advantage over the other kits Andreas manufactures. And lastly, I'm sure that BVM will stand behind every one that he sells.
But why not advertise the fact that it's a BVM designed kit that is manufactured overseas? What's the big deal?

Kevin,
How many times have we talked, here and on the phone? My name is not 'Sean', it's 'Shaun.' Can I at least get that courtesy from you? Everything I do is 'veiled' to you. There was nothing veiled about it. I wrote in my post that I had heard (through asking) several different answers. I wanted to know which one was accurate. Why did I want to know? That's MY business. Why nobody wanted to say? That's the biggest curiousity of 2003 to me.
Ghost Rider,
How do you say that I was not satisfied? Did I pose the question again after having received those PMs and emails? No. So, what do you mean?
Chris Huhn,
What the sam-hell are you talking about??? What did I 'make up?' Maybe you don't feel there's a 'right to know', and, frankly, I could give a squirt, but I didn't manufacture the curiousity about it. Maybe I was the first to ask about it, but I didn't create the cloud of secrecy, or this ignoramous attitude that it's a crime to ask the question. Give me a friggin' break--you know if we were talking about anything other than this particular manufacture of airplane, you wouldn't be trying to school anyone on the meaning of 'proprietary.' You also know that if I was asking about the place of origin of anyone's else kit, you wouldn't show up with this sanctimonious garbage about the defense of proprietary information.
Get it straight, guys: I came in here and asked a question because I did not have a definite answer. Instead of an answer from the many, many people who know the accurate truth, I only got these bafflingly moronic insinuations of malfeasance and questions as to why I'm asking. Then I have people come in here and tell me I'm 'creating' a curiousity?? I DO NOT have a problem with BV or anyone else making their kits overseas. Obviously, it seems to be something to hide to many. I'll never understand that, but whatever. Here's the deal, though--If I want to know the skinny on any issue relating to this hobby, I will come in here and ask if I damn well please. If my question offends you, well you'll just have to BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT. It is utterly STUPID to suggest that the question was meant to do anything other than DIVINE AN ANSWER! If you don't believe that, well, that's your choice. If you want to take issue with that, or anything else, my phone number is on my signature.

Fair enough. You're right, and sorry 'bout that.
Chris Huhn and Kevin green:
Funny how you jump in and sing songs about how evil Shawn is for asking the question, sing songs about how it doesn't matter where kits are made and all that BUT you didn't want to jump in and answer the original question when he asked it. Sounds like a lot of doubletalk to me. On the one hand, it doesn't matter but on the other hand, the answer is a secret and woe be he that asks it. You guys are just laughable!

Shaun,
Sorry about the typo with your name---It wasn't intentional. To answer your question...We've talked numerous times on-line and twice on the phone. I don't get the point??? Shaun, I as well as many others, think you asked your question not from genuine curiosity but to try to rub BV's nose in the dirt concerning the foreign manufacture of a plane in his once all USA manufacturing facility. I've seen some pro BVM guy's rub your nose in the dirt due to the foreign manufacture of the models you represent/sell. No, it wasn't right----But now you see a chance to get even. Kinda puts you down at their level. How am I doin'....Am I gettin' warm???? I only call 'em as I see 'em and this one is in plain view. Overall, I think you are a good guy but this can of worms that you opened really doesn't matter in the giant scope of things....Don'tcha think????
Ahhhh---Goin' West.....No double talk here!!! If you are hearing an echo it's cause your empty scull is reverberating. :spinnyeye I didn't answer Shaun's question 'cause I didn't know. (And don't give a rats A** either) For someone accusing others of ASSuming---You sure are doing a lot of ASSuming yourself.....Get yourself a Plasectomy.
Kevin
Todd----LOL---You're killin' me!!!!

Have you even seen the Kingcat??? How many BVM kits do you own to even make the comparison? A Eurofighter it is not. I HAVE seen the kit, and the prototype airplane and quite franky I think that it is of comparable quality with the other BVM products that I own. It is a different type of airplane than the scale jets that BVM produces "in house". It is an ARF Jet no more no less. It is designed by BVM, manufactured to BVM's specifications, and BV's commitment to quality. I think we will ALL see a lot of them at the flying field.
