I have a unique guy working at the Batteries Plus store near me...He is president of one of our local clubs and obviously an avid modeler...This guy makes up all of my packs for me-From TX packs to turbine and RX packs....Stress tests them too before delivery!!!...I'll show him a pick of the battery and put him on the hunt...

Vector, Black and Decker, Airpro...all same thing with model VEC251B
there are a couple sites online that show it is discontinued or on backorder but this one allowed it to be placed in a shopping cart so it may work for you.
It appears the compressor itself is discontinued.
Part number appears to be 5140044-09

if that doesn't work this one shows backorder till 1/3/09

try some more with that part number or vec195 may also be helpful. I would also find out if you have one of those outlet type malls in your area there is usually a Black & Decker outlet among them. They may have it or can get it for you. If not maybe a DeWalt parts/service center locally.
Good luck

I went to the following site that lists batteries for Vector tools and they don't list a battery for the vec259. I did see one for a vec137 etc. that is 12V 3AH that looks like yours. They do have technical contacts that you may want to try.

Why not just solder up a nicad one? Should be able to make it fit in the same space. Or put an external feed on it and use an outside source. Bob

Tried that already... The pack does not pack the PUNCH of the Lead Acid....
