Nose steering in, tubes glued to the botton sheet hold the wires clear of the leg. Also my std silicon glue on each end of the wire to stop it looping back when retracted.

Also some new Retracts we are offering for the Nano, air up air down and full air support, they come with oleo legs which are not really suitable, but for just over £100 it's does not matter!

I ordered one of those t-45 pilots so we will see in a couple weeks from Hong Kong.

Anybody that has used the Eflite retracts , can you post how or where you mounted the front retact. they are setup kinda opposite of springairs so there would be quite a bit of the retract below the fuse/outside.

Thanks Ryan

Nearly there with my NANO, few more install tweeks and put it together for a radio set-up, some decals and were good to go!

Yep, team M&R are "proper" modellers and hopefully we will test fly two Boomerang models today as one on our early customers has an Elan ready too.

Test flew the Nano today in 10-12mph winds, it feels really good-three good flights with minor expo changes had snaps, knife edge, rolling loops, multiple spins. the P60 is a great combo.
Looking forward to some calmer weather so I can finish trimming it.
I've also set up split rudders so I can angle them out for additional landing drag on flat calm days.

Hi, my Nano sits on its undercarriage with a slight nose down attitude, will this be ok or will it be reluctant to rotate?

thanks in advance

Chris

It's bad, if possible extend the nose leg. For grass use (where you get a fair amount of bounce and "kick") you can set the lower fuselage surface flat, but ideally a tiny tail down sit would be better. Some models won't like that as they keep flying and bounce on landing, but the Nano is fine. I have my landing Flap going the full 90 degrees, plus 8mm crow to slow it up. I might get to fly it in the morning as I've been asked to test fly a new CARF prop plane and will probably take the Nano, we might try and get some video too.

Several people we sold Nano's to also went that way, you will need to do some cutting and trimming around the nose set-up. We will have the Oleo main legs I used that will fit these and other units this week, but not a cheap option. My original Intro has been on wire legs for 3 years without an issue.
We did a video which Colin will post if he managed to catch any model in all the sky camera waving! (note don't buy a video camera without a view finder if you want decent model videos!) I have never seen our field so wet and boggy and the Nano was still off in 35-40m

Heres the video of Dave's Nano shot yesterday. As Dave said he had a very damp patch...

Sit back, turn the sound up and enjoy!

A couple of people have asked about flight time, the video was not the whole flight as Colin was struggling to keep the model in the view finder, this flight was 6 1/2 minutes total with a 50oz Dubro and M&R UAT tank, the main tank ends up with 10mm (3/8") of fuel and a tiny bubble in the UAT.

Flight was long enough with the youtube obsession of adding music!
As I normally do, with model flying videos that contain music, watch the takeoff then fast forward to the landing, music had stopped then so it was the best part

Nothing wrong with the song and no good turning it down, as it is the engine/turbine you want to hear, dont know why but for some reason everyone who puts up a video on youtube has to dub it with music, it is a disease of some sort [:'(]

David,
Where did your C of G end up for best performance? It sort of surprised me I had to move it forward a bit.

I moved it forward 1/4" also right from the start, I had flown my friend Trevor Skedge's Nano at Xmas and that told me it wanted to be slightly infront. He tried it on the instruction point and found it a little loose in pitch for our tastes, the tail area is not huge so this makes sense. I'm still finalising expo and movements, this video was flight four and I'm close now. It's a nice flying aeroplane with great slow speed characteristics. I'm going to use it to introduce new people to turbines, there are a few guys in the local club looking and a model like this will suit perfectly.

The Nano legs have arrived! They have 4mm axles and 4 or 5mm pin holes

exactly what I did. I put 2oz in the nose and then later added a larger turbine battery for a total of 1/2 inch more than plan. It does fly slow much better than I thought it would. one time I got so slow in the turn, I rolled out thinking it would stall and it did great.. we radar'd the landing speed at 20mph once, and 23mph the next. I think it would go slower but really didn't need to. I believe anyone that can fly a pattern bird or scale bird can fly this. I fly it at club night at the field. The kids and .40 flyers love it..

It really sticks when it lands, and you can just drop the gear/flap and land from almost anywhere. I take it to the jet meets to fly a bunch of times to get used to the field before flying the larger birds. I do miss my Elan though.. it was a little more graceful..

Im adding lights this winter to it so I can comfortably fly it right up to dusk. I will post pics when done. its a real basic package

just been doing some building to my nano. mated the wing with fuselage. is it correct that its just epoxied to the wing?, just dosnt seem a strong bond!!, would have though it would be like the sprint which has spigots on the front of the wing that goes into the fuse and screws on rear.
