Default A problem with the Wren turbine position

Hi
I have the Wren SS and and I have a big Problem with installing it, because the only way I can do that is
putting the turbine in position that the plug is nearly at 7-8 o'clock and not in the regular position like 10 o'clock position.
Is there any problem with that I should expect?
Will the turbine run good?

Thank you

Avi

The position of the glow plug in the Wren Supersport should be at the 2 o'clock position. Wren say this is required to ensure a proper flow of fuel to the bearings.
Sara from Wren will probably chip in with a solution, if this is not possible.

Hi Avi,

I've just checked with Mike Murphy and the latest SuperSports are fine upside-down. I'm about to update the instruction manual ...

Usually, as long as you avoid the 6 o clock position. That allows deposits to settle on your plug, reducing plug life.

Sarah -

What about the MW54 Mk III
The advice has always been, with the older engines, to try to avoid the plug being in the 6 o'clock - 10 o'clock position, and the 2 o'clock is the best. The reason is that the lube flow to the bearings on start-up is not so good when the engine is in this orientation, and it may lead to premature bearing wear. You need to be aware of a potential problem and avoid it if possible.

The newer generation Wren motor lubrication systems are designed to not be affected by plug position. The manual is being updated as we speak. Starting is actually improved in some conditions when the plug is positioned more around the 3-4 or 8-9 o-clock position.

cheers,

Thank you all for the advice!

I'll try to keep the plug not in 6 o'clock,
the best I can do is around 8 o'clock .
(the only way I can look and work is from the bottomof the plane so everything is up side down)

Thank You

Avi

Ron, Sara:

Can you specify "newer" modles by serial # or some other method? I have an SS that I would dearly love to rotate away from 2 o'clock that I bought new about 15 months ago.......

Thx, don.
