Colors turned out better than I hoped for. I didn't know the blue was metallic [8D][8D]

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
LoL with just the vipers Ali has sold in the last week, that would break Pampa's rules for the number of models in the air at one time

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
I have removed the brace at the back of the canopy, and made to "hooks" instead, works perfectly. That enabled me to place the filling couplers for air and fuel behind the backseat.
I also made some reinforcements, particularely the "spine" from the vertical fin (the raised part) is very soft on the sides, that one got some carbon, made a lot of difference. Also the front part of the plane is soft, both the sides and the bottom, carbon there too (not too much to shield 2.4 GHz )
Cables and airtubing has been installed, planning the install of the equipment now (the Weatronic and the valveblock makes a nice and simple install!)
Thrustube for the P200SX ordered, so it's getting close

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Murray,
I can give you dimensions with gear up? Do you need gear down height? Surely you can't fit the VJ in your van with the wings on and gear down?? [X(]
cheers
Mark

Hi Mark, I am putting a shelf through the van to make two levels, one for planes, one for wings. Gear down measurement would be great.

Murray, the mains are mounted in the wings, so unless you are going to put the viper in the ute with the wings on, you should only need the measurement with the gear up
What alot of people are doing is to make 2 cradles for the fuz. These can be screwed down to the shelf in the van, with bungee's securing the fuz to the cradle.
You can also make the rudder removable, which makes transporting it even easier. It's a simple enough mod which Ali has on his and i'll be doing on mine. I'll post some pics when i get to that bit

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
My bad. Didn't think about the wheels in the wings. I will keep the tail on, so that will be the right measurement, Fuse to top of tail height. Thanks for the advice, look forward to seeing the photos Duncan.

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Made my tail fin removable. I drilled & tapped the forward carbon rod. 3mm allan screw through the side of the fuz just down from the tail root. I drilled holes either side of the fuz, under the stabs, in line with the clamp bolt & nut for access. It 's a five minute job to remove & fit. Very secure.

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Mark,
I saved the photo, thanks. Nice paint job you have there, it's my favourite scheme of all the VJ. I ordered the Ali colours, that being my second choice. It should arrive here soon, it's been 5 weeks since they confirmed my payment and placed the production order. Is that paint scheme on your plane done by Skymaster factory, or did you get that done privately?

Anyone know when the new 2 metre Viperjet will be shipping? It does say end of the year on the website but from experience dates can go either way.

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Can someone post a link for suitable landing lights to fit the viper. Not just the link to the site, but the actual item in the site. The few sites I have found do not give size details, so it is difficult to select the right item for the job.

RE: Another Skymaster Viper
Hi Murray
Here are the pics of the rudder mod, making it removable for travel, it's only a 20 minute job (after the hysol has dried). I first drilled a hole under the stab and in line with the metal clamp which holds the rear carbon rod in place. Then on the inside of the fuz i added a fillet of hysol either side of where the front ali peg sits. Then with the rudder in place and locked by the rear clamp, i drilled a 2.5mm hole in the side of the fuz and through the ali peg. This was then tapped to 3mm and a countersink ground, so the 3mm bolt sits flush with the fuz when in place.
hope that helps
Duncan
