Hi Marcello,
I looked at the FEJ L-39 and asked around on RCU to get some feed back on their L-39's. Then I contacted Mike at Global Jet Club and found that he puts in extra reinforcement in the high stress areas, in the fuse turbine area, in the landing gear mounts ect...... and the price was close to the same. The FEJ from what I was told was on the heavy side for the size, 1/7 scale, thus a higher wing loading. The GJC L-39 is the 1/6 size which is a little bigger and the weight was the same, 21.5lbs-22lbs wet. The gear was another weak area. This was a couple of month's ago so I don't know what has been done to correct these areas since. I am very pleased with the FB L-39 and GJC. Mike has been very helpful when I needed any info. The jet in my opinion is awesome. It's a sleek jet and quick on it's toes. It looks awesome in the air. I would not hesitate to purchase another jet from Mike in the future. Here's a couple more pics of the landing lights on the tip of the tanks and the nose strut. Sorry about the clarity. Cell phone cam.

Hi Marcelo, Iam not sure I would say one is better than the other, both companies offer some very good value products. Bottom line at the end of the day is what a customers finishing and detail expectations might be... I have not seen the FEJ L-39 ''in the flesh'' myself so cannot comment on pro's/con's between these two particular L-39's. Regardless I do like my FB L-39 quite alot and its overall quality and finish actually exceeded my initial expectations and is very good especially based on price. Woody's FB L-39 RCU build thread does offer a great insight into this model...

Any serious modifications are "NOT" generally required with either brands L-39's from any of my understanding. Common sense issues like the obvious generic ARF check lists goes without saying ie double checking all obvious visual glue joints, Loctiting all fittings and probably just a few personal preference hardware upgrades, such as replacing mechanical gear/door valves with electronic units etc.

Cheers- Marty

Those of you that have the Kingtech. Is the throttle response as good as the other engines on the market? It appears to be an excellent engine and very good value for the $$.

I have about 4-5 second delay from idle to full throttle. Takes some getting used to.

Ronnie,

Is there any info on the K-160X yet?

Thanks,

Eric
Mr. Chang Wen-Fu said me.

"K160 is now in production. Next year(2010), in January published data.
and is expected to release in March."

I have flown the Velox with both the P-70 and K80 and also noticed the K80 seems to also carry less residual thrust, I was able slow the Velox down easier when landing. Otherwise the K80 and P-70 are very similar in performance.

As to throttle acceleration/deceleration time the stock factory set parameters seem to be fine for my "pattern" and "scale" style of flying as Iam not really snapping the throttle open and closed so it feels quite linier to my throttle stick movements. I have not felt the need to adjust the factory set Fadec acceleration parameters.

As to blowing plugs, I think this maybe relative to the battery type/capacity being used. Iam running six cell NiCad 7.2V 2400 mAh packs for my K80 systems and have not blown a plug yet. Check with your Kingtech rep if you are blowing plugs and ask about your chosen ecu batteries compatibity with the stock Kingtech Fadec parameter plug heat range settings.

Cheers- Marty

Hi

I have fitted a K80 in my Velox - The K80 ran great on the test stand but now it has been installed I am getting low RPM related flame outs. I did have to extend the RPM and Temp leads. I think it must be related to that. I will relocate the ecu to the wheel well and not use the extensions and see if this sorts out the problem.

Can someone post some pics of their ecu installation on a Velox.

Mike,
Is the delivery valve your using regulated or pass through? No restrictor needed, gas setting will control gas flow. Let me know what kind of valve and I can give you a good starting range for gas and glow settings.

Mike,
with this valve set wide open, set gas flow to around 60% and glow to around 32 and you should get clean lights every time.
